Lifted brow: fine tuning your face and your foundation
Trend: Pristine Primers

The latest batch of fine-tuned primers make all the difference to a foundation’s longevity and the skin’s brightness. They can be worn either as an undercoat or, in the case of tinted primers, mixed into foundation pre-application.
This week I try … upper-face ultherapy

The lowdown Ultherapy is a noninvasive procedure that bypasses the skin’s surface and delivers ultrasound energy to heat skin tissue. I’m having my upper face area treated. Ultherapy activates the skin’s regenerative response, which in turn stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin. Over three months, the skin lifts and tightens. Having had this treatment before, I have taken a couple of painkillers to dull the intensity. The areas to be worked on are marked with a pen, the ultrasound gel is applied and the therapist wields the wand.
Pain factor It’s been discovered that a reduced level of intensity is just as effective, so the pain is more tolerable this time.
Downtime Thirty minutes. I had a bit of swelling and tenderness, which subsided by day two.
Results At the two-month mark, my forehead feels firmer and my brows look lifted.

The cult brand Davines’ Oi Hair Butter, (salonstyle.com.au, $50) is a nourishing hair treatment that targets frizz and is chock-full of antioxidants. For an intense treatment boost, apply to dry hair and leave on for 10 minutes. Shampoo, then reapply, leaving on for five minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
How do I keep eyeliner on the inner rim?
The eye naturally wants to get rid of the waterline eyeliner and tears up to try to remove it, so waterproof liner is best. Try Smashbox Always On Liquid Liner (mecca.com.au, $34). Remove with an oil-based make-up remover using cotton tips.
