FORMER Chelsea star Wayne Bridge is “very surprised” boss Maurizio Sarri has not been sacked – despite the Blues reviving to finish third in the Premier League.

Ex-England left-back Bridge claims Chelsea have been blighted by “inconsistency” after fans and players took time adjusting to the so-called Sarri-ball style of carefully retaining possession.

Bridge told Sky Sports News:“Some say it’s been successful but it’s been very up and down.

“‘They’ve been very inconsistent and consistency is what you want of a big team.

“That’s what’s going to win you the Premier League. I don’t really know where he stands.

“I’m very surprised that he’s still there.

“They are third and they are in a final [Europa League] but as an ex-player and a Chelsea fan, I would like to see them higher up in the table.”

EDEN HAZARD has been asking team-mates where the best spots to live in Madrid are, according to reports.

The Chelsea winger is almost certain to sign for Real Madrid after the Europa League final.

After their final home game of the season, the Belgium said: “I have made my decision. Yes, I told the club a couple of weeks ago.”

Boss Maurizio Sarri then added: “I know very well that Eden tried to do his best for seven seasons at Chelsea.

“He has become one of the best two or three players in the world. But I think also that we have to respect him and his decision.”

According to Marca, Real Madrid could even announce Hazard's signing on May 30 – the day after the final with Arsenal in Baku.

They report that he has been picking the brains of team-mates past and present who have lived in the Spanish capital where he should buy a house.

Real Madrid are braced to pay Chelsea around £100million and offer him a lucrative five-year contract.

Hazard has made no secret of his dream to play for the Spanish side, under his idol Zinedine Zidane.

CHELSEA midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko's loan spell at AC Milan is unlikely to earn him a permanent switch to the Serie A giants.

Italina outlet calciomercato suggest Milan are planning many changes in mid-pitch – but without the France anchorman.

Bakayoko, 24, is thought to have impressed AC on the field but not off it – meaning they are unwilling to pay Chelsea's asking price of around £30,4million.

CESAR AZPILICUETA says Chelsea's players can do no more to stop star man Eden Hazard joining Real Madrid.

Belgian playmaker Hazard, 28, seems certain to be unveiled as Real's top summer signing for £100million after Chelsea's Europa League final with Arsenal on May 29.

And the Blues' Spanish right-back Azpilicueta, 29, told Sky Sports:“Obviously Eden is a very important player for us.

“We arrived here at the same time and obviously we want him to stay with us – but we have to respect his decision.

“He is a Chelsea player and his mind is only doing well with Chelsea and on lifting the trophy in Baku – and then we will see.”

CHELSEA starlet Martell Taylor-Crossdale is close to joining Hoffenheim, according to reports.

Sky Sports say the 19-year-old striker will head over to Germany later this week for a medical and complete the formalities on a permanent move to the Bundesliga.

The Premier League side wanted to extend his stay but the teenager snubbed the offer and will continue his development in Germany on a free transfer.

Taylor-Crossdale, from East London, was top scorer in the U18 Premier League in 2017 and has scored goals for England from U16 through to U20 level.

He was also a member of the England U18 team that lifted the Toulon Tournament trophy in 2017.

It is also reported Hoffenheim – who loaned Reiss Nelson from Arsenal this season – are also in the mix to land another unnamed English youngster before the end of the month.
