A Place In The Sun’s newest addition Lee Juggurnauth, 33, has spoken about the moment he was cast in the Absolutely Fabulous film by script writer and actress Jennifer Saunders, 62. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the star revealed that he made a brief appearance in the film with his friend and singer LuLu, 72, back in 2016.
It was really fun to be part of, it was a great experience
The former music industry runner used to work closely with pop star LuLu and revealed that it was her regular guest appearances on the BBC show that bagged him the role.
The property expert revealed LuLu starred alongside Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley and Dame Edna while filming for the first episode of series two of The Great Comic Relief Bake Off.
He said: “We did celebrity Bake Off – Lulu was on there, that was a really fun day.
“But a year after that they were making Ab Fab the movie,” he continued.
Lee revealed that after going to visit his famous friend on set one day, he was starstruck when one of the leading stars asked him to make an appearance in the film.
The TV star explained: “LuLu has been a regular in the series, so one day I went down for filming and there was everyone there – from Kate Moss to the Beckhams.”
“I remember I was standing next to Lu, and Jennifer [Saunders] was like, ‘I want you in the film’, I was like, ‘What?!'” Lee revealed.
The property guru went on to star with LuLu in the film for a short appearance.
“In the film there was a party, so Jennifer was like, ‘You can walk Lu down the red carpet.”
Despite the APITS star appearing on screen only briefly, Lee explained that his role made his mum proud.
“If you blink, you miss it, but it was probably like a 20 second clip, like a minute clip”, he explained.
“But just to be part of that was an unreal experience so that was definitely something I look back on and think, ‘Wow’.”
“My mum always watched Ab Fab, I didn’t really know much about the show before I was on it”, he admitted.
“But I know it’s a huge part of British history and it was incredible and hilarious to be on the film set”, he gushed.
Lee went on: “It was really fun to be part of, it was a great experience.”
Last week, the star made his debut on the Channel 4 favourite property show.
The former music industry runner previously shared how he was rejected by the show two years ago, as they were looking for a female presenter instead.
Speaking about the moment he learned that he had been successfully cast for the show last year, Lee admitted that it was a dream come true, as he had been turned down by the property show before.
He said: “It was kind of like a pinch me moment because I had previously auditioned for the show two years prior to that.
“I got quite far, I got into the final two, but they chose someone else instead because they wanted a girl at the time.”
A Place In The Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 at 4pm.
