In the candid selfie, the mum-of-two struck a pose with her hand placed on the small of her back.

Carol sported a pair of tight-fitting cargo trousers, which hugged her legs and gave a glimpse of her pert bottom.

She paired her look with a long-sleeved cream top, showcasing her taut stomach.

The mathematician teamed her outfit with a pair of thigh-high boots.

Her light tresses hung in loose waves over her shoulder.

The jaw-dropping snap comes hours after the legendary Countdown presenter shared an unearthed clip from her younger years.

The BBC Radio Wales host celebrated the 39-year anniversary of the Channel 4 show.

She also paid tribute to Countdown host Richard, who sadly died in 2005.

Fans of the show flocked to comment on the heartfelt post.

Andy Potter penned: “I was lucky enough to spend two days in the studio with both of you back in 1991 when my pal Michael Wylie persuaded me to be a contestant. Richard was a lovely, friendly man (you were very nice too!). Great memory for me.”

Allie commented: “I was so excited for Channel 4. I remember obsessively watching the little scheduled slots they put out on the channel before the launch. I was 12-years-old.”

“There’s no one, who has hosted it, that has managed to do as well as Richard did. He was funny, warm and able to poke fun at himself,” Irene said.

Lucy Dorrington added: “It’s never been the same since. And you don’t look any different, except the giant 80s hair of course!”
