Celebrities and Politicians React to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Death
Ruth Bader Ginsburg has tragically died at the age of 87, CNN reports. According to NPR, the Supreme Court announced her death, which was caused by complications from metastatic cancer of the pancreas. Ginsburg served on the Supreme Court since 1993 and was appointed by then-president Bill Clinton. The court’s statement said she died in her home in Washington surrounded by family.
“Our nation has lost a justice of historic stature,” Chief Justice John Roberts said. “We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her, a tired and resolute champion of justice.”
Since her passing, celebrities and politicians including Hillary Clinton, Sophia Bush, and Mariah Carey have mourned her death.
