Golden Globes nominee Taron Egerton has emotional reunion with Elton John

Golden Globes nominee Taron Egerton was reunited with Elton John ahead of the awards.

The actor, 30, has been tipped for Best Actor In Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy at the 77th annual glittering ceremony on July 5.

Taron garnered attention for his energetic performance as young Elton in epic biopic Rocketman which hit the cinemas last year.

For luck, the leading star rubbed shoulders with the rock star who gave him some words of encouragement at the BAFTA tea party on Saturday.

Their close bond and fondness was captured on camera as Taron was seen affectionately holding Elton's arm while they sat together for tea.

At the event, the hunk gave the singer a warm welcome with a kiss on the cheek and a hug when he greeted him.

Later in a touching message, the actor noted he had a best time working alongside the musician and he shared his hopes of achieving the Golden Globe.

Accompanied with the picture, he wrote: "Reunited at the @bafta tea party yesterday. Big day today. Win or lose it’s all about the ride.

"And this has been the best. Love to all involved. So proud."

It would be Taron's first Golden Globe if he was to scoop the award on Monday.

There's plenty of healthy competition as he will have to fight off Knives Out's Daniel Craig and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood's Leonardo DiCaprio for the title.

Dolemite Is My Name's Eddie Murphy and Jojo Rabbit's Roman Griffin Davis have also been named in the envy-inducing category.

In December, Taron enthused he had fallen in love with Elton as his friend as he talked about their close relationship.

He told The Wrap: "We really sort of fell in love as friends. I think that really informed and fed into my portrayal of him because I cared about him."
