Emotions ran high as footballer Harry Kane consoled his heartbroken wife Kate as she broke down in tears at the culmination of the Euros 2020.

Sunday evening saw the nail-biting match extended to extra time and then penalties before Italy ultimately reigned triumphant with a 2-1 victory against England.

And 27 year old England captain Harry was quick to reunite with his emotional wife Kate, who was evidently gutted at the final result.

Devastated WAG Kate was seen wiping away tears as she gazed at the football pitch before collapsing into her husband's arms as he sweetly comforted her.

With crowds of people around them, the couple – who have three children – exchanged a few words before sharing a kiss.

Fitness instructor Kate has long been a supporter of Harry's football ambitions since they met at school.

Ahead of the Euro 2020 finals, Kate penned an emotional love letter to him.

The striker's other half took to her Instagram feed to post the message alongside a series of gorgeous photos for her 180,000 followers to see.

In the letter, Kate told her husband she couldn't help but break down into tears when thinking of how proud she is of him.

"H, you know I'm not one to cry too easily, but I found myself in tears when I started writing down how proud you're making us all and what you're doing for the country," she started.

Reminiscing, Kate, who shares a £17million home with Harry, continued: "I used to laugh at you when we started going out and you'd be round mine playing penalties with my brother Tom and Seamus the dog, and you'd say you would be England captain one day.

"But that's you – you set yourself a goal and you achieve it and you always said you were going to the Euros to get to the final.

"You're just such an amazing husband and dad, and the children can't wait to have you home. Imagine telling them all about this summer one day when they're a bit older."

She went on: "We all love you so much, Skipper. Bring it home for the country, you deserve to lift that trophy with this incredible England team!"

In the caption, she added: "Dear H, we love you. Bring it home." followed by a red heart emoji, England flag emoji and a lion emoji.

Harry immediately responded to the sweet post as he wrote: "Love you," with a heart circling a smiling face emoji and a pink heart emoji.
