Janette Manrara, 38, publicly apologised to Rylan Clark, 34, after she cheekily tricked him live on television during It Takes Two. The pair, who both host the BBC Two Strictly spin off show on separate days, showed off their level of good friendship after Janette pretended to be a viewer and wrote into the show. Rylan then unwittingly proceeded to read out Janette’s fake letter, in which she declared her love for real-life husband Aljaž Škorjanec, demanding that he should return to the show to do more presenting.

The seemingly staged segment of the show started shortly after Rylan had finished catching up with contestants Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu.

Segwaying into the next section, Rylan said: “We always love to hear from you lot at home and we have had a lovely letter from one of you at home this week.

“I have it here and I am actually going to read it out. I think it is nice to talk about the fans.”

Continuing with the gimmick, Rylan began to read the letter, which read: “Dear Rylan. I’d love to see the handsome and talented Aljaž on It Takes Two.

“Maybe you could have him explore some of the themed weeks from Strictly shows across the globe. It would really make my year as I love Aljaž so much.”

Interjecting while reading the letter to say how “lovely” it was, Rylan continued until he got to the bottom, which read: “Lots of love, Janette Manrara.”

Causing a roar of laughter from Carlos, Molly and the crew, Rylan added: “Well Janette, we can do that for you darling,” before the cutaway with Aljaž played.

Shortly after the show aired, Janette took to Instagram, where she boasts 504,000 followers. Posting a clip of the show on her story she wrote: “Sorry for the letter! Haha!”

She then showed some more love for her husband, adding: “Loved seeing @aljazskorjanec presenting!”

Aljaž’s surprise involvement in the show also pleased viewers, who were left disappointed when he quit as a professional dancer on the main BBC One show back in 2021.

The star’s segment saw the Slovenian pro dancer take a look at dance shows across the world and the different themes and ideas they have. From an Elvis week on America’s Dancing with the Stars, to an ABBA themed week on Sweden and Poland’s version of the show.

With many having enjoyed the segment, and seeing Aljaž, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, pleading with BBC to make it a regular feature on the much-loved spin-off show.

@hibee_girl wrote: “They need to find a permanent slot for Aljaž on #ittakestwo #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.”

And @Dorina335 added: “Loved this interlude with Aljaž! More of this please #ittakestwo #Strictly.”

A third, by @debbieblackman read: “Wonderful to see our darling @AljazSkorjanec back on #ItTakesTwo. He is much missed on #Strictly. What a joyful surprise.”

After appearing on the show for nine years, Aljaž became a firm favourite with fans, but decided that he would leave the show in order to fulfil a surprising career change.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Aljaž said that he would be taking up acting lessons and has started auditioning for parts to “get his foot in the door” of Hollywood.

He said: “I’ve had an incredible nine years on Strictly and have felt so lucky to be there, but it felt like the right time to take a risk and open myself up to new challenges.

“I want to try other things like film, TV and radio while I’m still young enough and my body is 100% capable.

“Do I want to go to Hollywood? Of course! If I didn’t dream big I would never have ended up on Strictly.”
