Jeremy Clarkson: The Grand Tour host reacts to fan as he announces big news

The Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson, 59, regularly keeps his fans up-to-date with his day-to-day life. The former Top Gear presenter took to Twitter and announced some exciting news yesterday.

The car-enthusiast revealed that new episodes of The Grand Tour will soon be airing amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The social media user in question wrote: “@Jeremy Clarkson I think now would be a great time to release some new grand tour episodes. I would consider it to be quite possibly the single greatest contribution to all mankind to help us defeat COVID 19! Love your stuff.”

Jeremy replied: “I agree. And one is nearly ready to go.”

Fans inundated the TV personality with comments, as they reacted to the news.

One fan quipped: “Well put your wine down and hurry up.”

Another person commented: “Speed it up big boy. The population needs entertaining.”

A third person added: “New season? Really? Best quarantine ever.”

While another fan tweeted: “Literally can’t wait… Need it now.”

The Grand Tour host’s post comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson advised people to stay indoors and avoid mass gatherings amid the coronavirus outbreak.

He said: “You should avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues.

“The proprietors of those venues are taking the logical steps that you would imagine, you are seeing the change happen already.

“As for enforcement, we have the powers if necessary but I don’t believe it will be necessary to use those powers.”

There is still no official word of when the new series of The Grand Tour will air.

Since the show’s release, Amazon Prime subscribers have been eagerly awaiting the next feature released by the streaming site.

Elsewhere, it looks like The Grand Tour has been looking for a brand new member of the team, as a job listing for an Amazon Prime Video role has reportedly been spotted online.

But according to The Mirror and The Mail on Sunday, the job application isn’t too friendly about one of the show’s hosts.

The application doesn’t seem to be online anymore, but according to the aforementioned publications it required an applicant well versed in “experience of handling the logistics for big and complex foreign road-trip-style shoots”.

It went on to add potential applicants “must be persuasive with grumpy officials at three in the morning”.

The job application concluded: “And must be authoritative and charming enough to lead a team that already knows what it’s doing.”

It is also not clear what this job application is for, so while it may seem like the show could be expanding, the likelihood is fans’ experiences of the show will not change at all.

The Grand Tour is available on Amazon Prime Video now.
