Jessie J reveals she caught Covid at her own gig weeks after devastating miscarriage

Jessie Jhas revealed she contracted Covid just weeks after havingsuffered a heartbreaking miscarriage.

The singer branded her gigs as a “safe space”, but sadly Jessie – full name Jessica Cornish – ended up testing positive from Covid soon after.

While she contracted the virus, Jessie, 33, looked at the bright side of things as she felt her gig went really well.

Sharing a series of snaps taken at her gig at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on 15 December, she wrote: “I got covid at this show BUT The audience could clap in time. Balance.”

The Price Tag singer had captioned a video shared of her singing her hit song Nobody’s Perfect the day after her performance: “‘You are in a safe space’ (Private joke. Had to be there).”

Alongside another video, Jessie wrote: “They say you find the love of your life when you are not looking.

“So boom… I’ll pretend to look the other way, and then you just (whoever you are) sneak up on me.”

“Anytime soon is good. Cool,” she added.

Others who attended the gig also commented on how much they enjoyed her performance despite their own Covid concerns, but noted that the concert was far from a “safe space”.

One follower remarked: “Safe space" my a**. It was a great show though! Great intimate space and wore my mask the whole time. Had a feeling Rona was lurking in the room.”

Another wrote: “We wore our mask the entire show as well!!! I was so freaked out the almost nobody had masks on. We contemplated leaving but our love of her music made us stay. I went and got tested a few days after because it was so unsafe!”

Meanwhile, many others of Jessie’s 10 million Instagram followers wished her a speedy recovery.

Jessie appears to have been doing a number of intimate gigs across the US before testing positive for Covid, one of which she did just hours after receiving the devastating news.

Sharing a video of her singing in LA, the 33 year old wrote a lengthy post about how she was feeling in the wake of her miscarriage.

“I posted about losing my baby just hours after I was told. I reacted in work mode. It’s safe to say I sometimes pour more energy into creating an unhealthy process of my own pain in front of a camera, than I do acknowledging it behind one in real time. “The show must go on” mentality reacted before the human in me did,” Jessie penned.

“I must justify to the audience for my show tomorrow, and explain to the world why I might be a little off, was my first thought.

“I must turn this into a inspirational, I know I will be ok, strong moment, because that’s who I am right?

“Truth is, I just needed to f*cking cry and fall into someone’s arms and sob. But at the time I was alone. I hadn’t processed anything.

“Nor did I have any idea what I was about to go through not just emotionally but physically after this show.”

Jessie went on to say that she now understands why so many women who have been through the same as her want people to be more open about their experiences.
