Justin Bieber tackles his anxiety in new song ‘I Don’t Care’ with Ed Sheeran
Justin Bieber used his new pop bob with Ed Sheeran, “I Don’t Care,” as another way to open up to fans about his crippling anxiety.
The single finds the 25-year-old crooner tackling his mental health struggles with the help of the love of his life, wife Hailey Baldwin.
“With all these people all around / I’m crippled with anxiety / But I’m told it’s where we’re supposed to be / You know what? It’s kinda crazy ‘cause I really don’t mind / And you make it better like that.”
Of course, the lyrics also appear to be a nod to Ed Sheeran’s wife, Cherry Seaborn.
“‘Cause I don’t care when I’m with my baby, yeah / All the bad things disappear,” they duet in the chorus. “Yeah, you’re making me feel like maybe I am somebody / I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby, yeah.”
Earlier this month, the “Love Yourself” singer said he was “going through it” in an emotional Instagram prayer post.
“Don’t stop fighting the battle has already won.. fight for what you love and who you love don’t let fear and anxiety win,” Bieber, 25, wrote in part in the caption of a black-and-white photo, adding that he doesn’t believe he is loved and forgiven. “I hang my head in shame and I wallow in [sadness] about the people who have betrayed me.”
