Karlie Kloss shares the making-of her custom Dior wedding gown on first anniversary

Happy anniversary, Karlie Kloss!

The fashion model celebrated her first anniversary to husband Joshua Kushner by giving her fans a peek into what went into designing her dazzling wedding dress.

“364 days later, the making of my beautiful wedding dress,” Kloss wrote on Instagram Thursday, captioning a photo of her in the custom Christian Dior gown.

In a video posted on Kloss’ Youtube channel Thursday, and then on her Instagram Friday, the model revealed how the dress came into being.

“When I was a little girl, obviously I always loved the idea of a fairytale wedding, but I never imagined I would have the chance to have a fairytale wedding,” Kloss said. “It’s really surreal for me.”

The video, titled “The Making of My Wedding Gown,” takes viewers through the stages of bringing the dress to life, beginning with the early sketches of its design, to Kloss’ first fitting in Paris on Sept. 28, 2018, to her final fitting on Oct. 16, 2018, in New York.

“This kind of lace,” Kloss said at her first fitting while feeling the gown’s material, “I mean, it’s like icing.”

At Kloss’ final fitting, it was clear she was satisfied.

“It’s like this is everything I ever dreamed of and more,” she said. “Way beyond more.”

Though she donned a custom dress made from one of the most high-end fashion companies in the world, Kloss opted for comfort when it came to shoes.

“Oh, I am not wearing heels at my wedding day,” she said, showing the camera a pair of white flats. “I want to dance the night away.”

Kloss and Kushner tied the knot October 18 last year, the model announced on Twitter.

People and Vanity Fair reported at the time the two wed in a small Jewish ceremony with no more than 80 guests in upstate New York. Eight months later, the couple celebrated with an elaborate, celebrity-filled wedding bash in Wyoming.

Kushner, 34, is a businessman and the younger brother of Jared Kushner, senior adviser to President Donald Trump and husband of Ivanka Trump.

The couple has been together since 2012, though they tend to stay out of the spotlight. Kloss announced her engagement to Kushner last July through a heartfelt tweet.

“I love you more than I have words to express. Josh, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. I can’t wait for forever together. Yes a million times over,” Kloss wrote with a ring emoji.
