Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, 42, has shared a health update with her fans after receiving a recent diagnosis. The I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! winner described how her body has become covered in “fatty lumps”, but resolved to keep herself fit and healthy.
In view of her 811,000 Instagram followers, Kerry explained she had been diagnosed with Lipoedema.
The media personality shared a clip of herself exercising at home, wearing a pink workout top and some pale leggings.
“Today is the first day of the rest of your life people!!” she captioned the clip.
“I absolutely love Monday mornings! New day, new week, clean slate, fresh beginning!
“I was diagnosed Lipoedema last week which means swelling of the body and random fatty lumps,” she revealed.
“But f*** that s***!!! Gonna train the s*** out of my body!” Kerry continued positively.
“If you look at the video you can see the swelling at the top of my stomach, cross my ribs, and also my shins and knees…
“They’re that big they’ve got their own bleeding personalities!! Oh also got a broken foot!! Is that gonna stop me?????? Hell no!!” (sic)
“I start @francisdiet today with the help of @carlafishwick who’s been a huge inspiration to me!!!!” she added, tagging stylist Carla Fishwick and online coaching team FrancisDiet.
According to the NHS, lipoedema is “an abnormal build-up of fat in your legs and sometimes arms.
“It can be painful and affect daily life, but there are things you can do that may help.”
In terms of symptoms, the NHS says: “You may also have pain, tenderness or heaviness in the affected limbs, and you may bruise easily.

“Lipoedema can also cause knock knees, flat feet and joint problems, which can make walking difficult.
“It can be a difficult condition to live with and you may feel anxious or depressed.”
Kerry’s health reveal comes after the star opened up about suffering more health woes while on holiday abroad.
The reality star has explained she had kidney stones during a family trip to Turkey and that she was “in bed most of the time”.
Speaking in OK! earlier this month, she also talked about the “terrifying” moment her daughter was rushed to hospital during their time away.
She said her eight-year-old daughter, DJ, was taken to hospital after collapsing suddenly on their last day.
In her latest column, Kerry explained that her daughter’s blood pressure had dropped and she was throwing up, describing it as “the most terrifying thing ever.”
“We’ve just come back from Turkey. We had a lovely holiday although I was really poorly,” she recalled.
“Then, on the last day, I was blow-drying our DJ’s hair and she collapsed, with her eyes rolling back. It was the most terrifying thing ever.”
