Strictly Come Dancing stars Kevin Clifton, 37, and Stacey Dooley, 33, lifted the Glitterball trophy more than a year ago. The Grimsby-born performer spoke candidly with his former dance partner Kellie Bright, 43, as he discussed how she left him red-faced.
Speaking on his self-titled podcast The Kevin Clifton Show to EastEnders star Kellie – who was his partner in the 2015 series of the show – the pair chatted about the dynamic between dance partners.
The pair delved into the topic of professionals being paired up with celebrities.
The soap star noted that Kevin’s reaction to being partnered with Stacey was the polar opposite to being paired with her.
Kellie said: “I must say your reaction to being paired with me was nothing like your reaction to being paired with Stacey. But that’s understandable.”

Kevin chuckled: “Yes, it was very extra and over the top.”
She joked: “Well, we all know why now, don’t we?”
Kevin clarified: “It wasn’t that at the time but for some reason – I’m never like this – that series I was like, ‘Please can I get Stacey?'”
The Latin champion has previously revealed that he was adamant he wanted to be paired with the BBC journalist two years ago.
However, Kevin has since insisted that his reaction has left him slightly embarrassed.
Kellie interjected: “You know what I was saying about nothing happening by accident?”
“Stacey felt the same actually and we still can’t figure out why,” Kevin gushed. “Then when we got each other we were like, ‘Yeah!'”
He added: “Anyway, I’m all embarrassed now.”
Kellie chimed: “Don’t be embarrassed. It’s a lovely, lovely thing.”
Kevin and Stacey were crowned champions on Strictly and began dating months after the BBC series wrapped up.
The pair previously spoke about being partnered together ahead of the show on his podcast.
The dancer admitted he was “nervous” to interact with Stacey because they didn’t know each other.
Kevin explained: “On that day you have to take your official couple’s picture. It’s weird because you don’t know each other yet.
“You don’t know if that person has got any ability or style.”
He continued: “What I’m nervous about is interacting with a woman and being hands on. I feel some people don’t care. I’m nervous about all that especially with you.”
Kevin added: “In my head you were this really serious documentary-maker. I painted this picture in my head that you were this feminist.”
“Which I am,” Stacey finished.
