Piers Morgan stunned viewers by sensationally quitting Good Morning Britain after six years last week, refusing to apologise for his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Lord Alan Sugar has now reignited his feud with the ITV anchor, after the latter confirmed his return to the network.

The 55-year-old plugged his Life Stories interview with Coleen Nolan, which is airing on the channel tonight.

Yesterday, Piers insisted he was “still working” with ITV and “wasn’t fired”.

However, Lord Sugar, 73, has dismissed the outspoken broadcaster’s claims which he branded “BS”.

The Apprentice frontman claimed Piers was dismissed from ITV and claimed he won’t be recording any future episodes of Life Stories.

In view of his 5.2 million followers, the business guru shared an article that confirmed Piers’ return.

Referring to the ITV presenter’s interview with Coleen, Lord Sugar tweeted: “Total BS that show was recorded ages ago. Let’s see if they record any new ones. He was fired by ITV from @gmb don’t believe any of his BS.”

This isn’t the first time Lord Sugar has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Piers’ departure from GMB.

He recently became embroiled in a Twitter spat with the journalist’s eldest son Spencer Morgan.

Following Spencer’s support for his dad, he came under fire for taking his side, with the business guru poking fun at him on the micro-blogging site.

“How you feeling sunshine,” The Apprentice star mocked.

Spencer hit back: “Probably better than you old man.”

But Lord Sugar wasn’t done there, adding: “Didn’t daddy tell you that little boys should be seen and not heard.

“Don’t worry your inheritance is secure he is negotiating his new deal right now.”

The Apprentice star’s comments come just a day after Piers addressed speculation over his exit.

Since the news of his departure was announced, some have suggested that he was fired, which he has adamantly denied.

Piers took to Twitter once again to defend himself in response to a tweet from his former CNN colleague Ana Navarro-Cárdenas.

She penned: “If no other change comes out of the #OprahMeghanHarry interview, that it lead (sic) to @piersmorgan getting fired again from yet another job, seems like a good outcome for the benefit of humanity.”

Piers responded, clarifying his exit in front of his 7.8 million followers.

He wrote: “Hi Ana, I wasn’t fired by ITV (I’m still working for them) just as I wasn’t fired by CNN (I was offered a new 2-year deal – ask Jeff).

“But great to see you’re just as big a treacherous little back-stabber now as you were when I worked at CNN.”

ITV announced Piers’ exit after Ofcom said it was investigating his comments after receiving 41,000 complaints over his comments about The Duchess of Sussex.

At the time, an ITV spokesperson said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
