Meghan Markle Dons a Sleek, Navy Dress for Her Final Solo Engagement as a Working Royal

Duchess Meghan is officially done with royal duties.

On Monday, she fulfilled her final solo engagement: meeting with the Association of Commonwealth Universities—a patronage she took on from the queen in 2019—for a private gathering at Buckingham Palace. Meghan shared a look inside the event on the official Sussex Royal Instagram, posting a video of her meeting with students from the organization. The ACU, according to its website, consists of over 500 colleges and universities from Commonwealth countries and is “dedicated to building a better world through higher education.”

Meghan spoke with scholars studying and researching subjects like “cleaning up plastic pollution in our oceans, helping to build more sustainable cities, improving health outcomes for citizens, and supporting decent work and economic growth,” according to the Sussexes’ Instagram post.

For the meeting, Meghan donned a sleek, form-fitting pencil dress by Scanlan Theodore with a tie-neck detail, pointed-toe stiletto pumps, dangling earrings, and her hair in a neat, low ponytail.
