Mickey Guyton Shares ‘Heaven Down Here’ Video, Reveals Sex Of Baby
Rising country star Mickey Guyton has shared the video for her new song, “Heaven Down Here.”
The video, featuring shots of empty classrooms and stadiums, damaged homes, and a doctor dressed in PPE, reflects the spectrum of contemporary life, with imagery of American flags and Black Lives Matter, alongside snapshots of military families and frontline workers.
Guyton will play “Heaven Down Here”, a song from her latest album Bridges, during the CMT Music Awards on October 21.
Speaking about the making of the powerful video, Guyton said it really shows what is happening in the world yet still gives a feeling of hope.
“To me, that’s what the song is. I really hope my fans feel hope.
The world is crazy right now. There is so much going on, I hope this video gives them the feeling that everything will be ok,” she said in an interview with CMT.
In the new issue of People, the pregnant musician also revealed that she is expecting a son in February.
“I’ve seen racial injustice happen to my husband. I’ve had a ‘Karen’ falsely make claims against him and say some of the most heinous things, like the N-word. I’m growing this Black child in my belly that is going to have to face this,” Guyton told People. “I pray for him.”
“I just want this baby to just have its own life and have its own choices,” she added, “and I will accept this baby for who or whatever it chooses to be. I just want to support it in every way that I can.”
Guyton made history last month by becoming the first Black woman to perform solo at the ACM Awards.
