Miley Cyrus Goes From Last Minute Addition to Iconic Performance at the Beale Street Music Festival
Miley Cyrus was a last minute addition to the roster at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee this weekend. However, according to local news reports, she quickly became a main draw … and ended up giving at least one iconic performance at the event.
Many fans will find Miley’s shouting of “Free Britney” during a performance of “Party in the USA” pretty memorable. However, the performance that will likely be longer remembered, at least among locals, will be her duet with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn.
The two performed Marc’s song “Walking in Memphis,” which has become a kind of anthem for the residents of Memphis. Marc mentioned it was the first time that he had ever performed the song as a duet, and Miley talked about how important her family trips to Graceland were to her as a young kid growing up a few hours away in Nashville, Tennessee.
