The owner of celebrity hotspot restaurants in New York hit out at James Corden in a series of Instagram posts on Monday. Keith McNally has now said he “feels strange” about the incident which subsequently went viral.

According to the entrepreneur, James, 44, called him and apologised “profusely” following the alleged outburst.

Keith said in a previous post the comic was “yelling like crazy” at staff over an omelette, leaving one waiter “shaken”.

Just two hours after his post was released the restaurateur lifted the “ban” and explained James is welcome to visit his eateries.

Keith has since explained he “feels sorry” for The Late Late Show host.

Taking to Instagram later on Tuesday, Keith admitted he was “feeling strange” as he headed out for dinner at his restaurant with his daughter.

He wrote: “With my daughter, Alice (in black) and her best friend, Margot Paisner, at Balthazar tonight.

“Feeling strange about the James Corden thing. On the one hand, he was definitely abusive to my staff, on the other hand, I feel really sorry for him right now. Like most cowards, I want it both ways.

“F*** it, I’m going to get drunk.”

The restaurateur called James a “gifted comedian” but a “cretin of a man” in a furious Instagram post.

In the lengthy rant, Keith wrote: “James Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.”

Keith added he “86’d” The Late Late Show host – which is a term used for throwing someone out or refusing to serve a customer.

He explained: “I don’t often 86 a customer, to today I 86’d Corden. It did not make me laugh.

Keith also shared details of another report which claimed James was “extremely nasty” to one waiter and “demanded” a round of drinks after finding hair in his food.

He later told his 85,000 followers:  “James Corden just called me and apologised profusely.

“Anyone magnanimous enough to apologise to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar.”

He joked that if he could present The Late Late Show for nine months, he would drop the ban.

Express.co.uk has previously contacted James Corden’s representatives for comment.

The chat show host is yet to address the alleged claims publicly but continued with his chat show as normal on Monday.

The viral post caught the attention of people on social media with many commenting on the alleged incident.
