Peter Phillips' ex-wife Autumn finds love with Irish property tycoon
Peter Phillips’ ex-wife Autumn finds love with super-wealthy separated Irish property tycoon Donal Mulryan
She’s no longer married to the Queen’s eldest grandchild, and now it seems Autumn Phillips has swapped royalty for riches.
I hear the ex-wife of Peter Phillips is enjoying a passionate romance with super-wealthy Irish property tycoon Donal Mulryan.
Their relationship is, however, complicated by the inconvenient fact that Donal, 52, is still married to his socialite wife, Louise Mulryan.
‘Donal wants to divorce Louise but he knows that it would cost him a fortune after 27 years together,’ one of her friends tells me. ‘He and Autumn have made no secret of their relationship and are very much in love.’
Autumn, 43, whose divorce from Princess Anne’s 43-year-old son was finalised last month, is said to have known Donal for years.

Her new partner, who boasts that he’s led the creation of property schemes with a combined development value of £4 billion, lives in Monaco, as does his wife.
A close friend of Autumn confirms the relationship, telling me: ‘Autumn and Donal have been friends for more than 15 years. They are both single people.
‘Donal has been separated from his wife for two years and is in the process of divorce.’

‘Donal can certainly treat her like a princess, ’ says the friend. Montreal-born Autumn Kelly was a management consultant when she met Phillips at the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix.
At the time, he was working for the Williams Formula 1 team. She is said not to have known until six weeks later, when she saw him on television, that he was the Queen’s grandson.

Peter was spotted enjoying a chat with F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham, who arrived with his sister Zara Tindall on June 17
She then moved to Britain and married Phillips in 2008 in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, that caused controversy because the couple sold the photographic rights to Hello! magazine for a reported £500,000.
The couple lived on Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire with their two daughters, Savannah, ten, who was the Queen’s first great-grandchild, and Isla, nine.
However, they began living apart after their estrangement in 2019.
When they announced their decision to divorce, a statement said: ‘Both Peter and Autumn will remain in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years.’
No doubt, Mulryan will soon be investing in a holiday home in the Cotswolds…
Yasmine’s man picks a ballet good day to pop the question
Royal Ballet star Yasmine Naghdi’s boyfriend, whose name she will give only as Riccardo, got down on bended knee during a holiday in his native Italy
‘It was the best day of my life, with the love of my life,’ gushes 29-year-old Yasmine
Used to collecting bouquets, Royal Ballet star Yasmine Naghdi instead accepted a marriage proposal this week.
I hear that her boyfriend, whose name she will give only as Riccardo, got down on bended knee during a holiday in his native Italy.
‘It was the best day of my life, with the love of my life,’ gushes Yasmine, 29, who is the first Londoner to become a principal dancer at Covent Garden since Dame Darcey Bussell in 1989.
‘Ricky proposed to me in a Tuscan vineyard in Florence, which captured my heart — and on his birthday, too. I’m so deliriously happy.’
Sold! A signed copy of Philip’s birds book
While Prince Harry makes a killing with a lurid memoir, his late grandfather stuck to writing more wholesome books.
A copy of Prince Philip’s 1962 title, Birds From Britannia, has just been sold by a rare book dealer for £75. It was dedicated to Laurie Lee, author of Cider With Rosie, whom Philip met at a dinner with the Queen’s childhood friends, Lord and Lady Nevill.
‘We were pleased to offer Laurie Lee’s library of 300 books and, unexpectedly, the Duke of Edinburgh’s book was one of them,’ Alex Day, of dealer Bernard Quaritch, tells me.
Rosie’s an extra wedding belle
Special guests: Burberry model Rosie Tapner pictured with intrepid adventurer Ross Turner
The bride is supposed to be the focus of any wedding, but it’s hard if your sister is one of Britain’s top models — and turns up with her handsome new man.
That’s what happened when Burberry model Rosie Tapner went to her older sister Anna’s wedding to Jack Griffiths with intrepid adventurer Ross Turner.
‘It was so special to have my most favourite person alongside me to celebrate my sister and her new husband,’ says Rosie, 25, whose father, Rory Tapner, was boss of the Queen’s bank, Coutts.
Ross, 33, and identical brother Hugo hold world records for being part of the youngest four-man crew to row the Atlantic. Rosie is an adrenaline junkie, too: she did the first ever zip wire crossing of the Thames — hurtling 170ft in the air at 40mph — for charity, of course.
Perhaps former Health Secretary Matt Hancock should have seen his downfall coming…
In one of his final acts before he quit the job — after CCTV images were published of him canoodling in his private office with his aide, Gina Coladangelo — he bought a selection of video camera equipment, I hear.
In addition to a monitor for £232.99, he bought a string of video camera accessories for smaller sums of money.
The purchases have been disclosed by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.
Green-fingered Prince Charles is stepping up his efforts to encourage the nation to take up gardening.
At his Highgrove shop, the heir to the throne is offering a garden tool gift set, featuring a small fork, trowel and a few seeds, for a whopping £125. The shop insists it is no common-or-garden set.
‘The hand trowel and fork feature a luxury leather strap,’ it explains, adding that it ‘comes wrapped in a beautiful Highgrove ribbon for that added touch of luxury’.
Perhaps it should include a few bon mots from Charles too? After all, he’s known for chatting to his greenery. ‘I just come and talk to the plants, really — very important to talk to them,’ he has said. ‘They respond.’
Stage and screen star Tamzin Outhwaite, who’s lived in London her whole life, declares that she’ll leave the capital if the West End doesn’t bounce back from the pandemic. ‘I think about moving to the country a lot,’ she says.
The New Tricks star, 50, adds: ‘Without theatre, London is pretty dead. Theatre services so many industries — all the hospitality and the hotels are going to be dead. Without theatre, it’s just architecture and nice parks.’
Boris silent on Pole’s position
Charlotte Carew Pole (pictured above), who’s leading a campaign to abolish the rule of male primogeniture so daughters can inherit titles and stately homes, accuses the Prime Minister of letting her down
Obsessed with his new working-class, so-called ‘Red Wall’, voters, Boris Johnson is neglecting the toffs. Charlotte Carew Pole, who’s leading a campaign to abolish the rule of male primogeniture so daughters can inherit titles and stately homes, accuses the Prime Minister of letting her down.
‘Boris Johnson was totally pro our campaign, but then some men from the House of Lords told him that it wouldn’t play well with the Red Wall, so it’s been buried,’ she tells me at a Westminster garden party. ‘It’s hugely frustrating.’
Carew Pole launched her Daughters’ Rights campaign after witnessing the reaction of her aristocratic friends to news that she was due to give birth to a girl, rather than a boy, who would have eventually inherited the baronetcy due to go to her husband, Tremayne. ‘I found it very hard to get pregnant and had to go through IVF,’ she says.
‘When I finally did, I had a wonderful little girl. But all of our friends said it was such a shame — and I felt guilty.’
The smart set’s talking about… will Cressida pen a memoir?
No one will have been more surprised by the Duke of Sussex’s decision to write a ‘tell-all’ than his ex-girlfriends, who are worried he’ll reveal private details of their romances.
A friend of actress Cressida Bonas claims she will be ‘shocked’ by his book deal, as Prince Harry made such a song and dance about privacy in their two-year relationship. ‘Harry was always obsessed with details of their relationship being made public,’ the pal tells me.

‘He even asked royal officials to find out how stories kept appearing in a broadsheet newspaper.’
Bonas — now wed to a more respectable Harry, Wentworth-Stanley — has been the soul of discretion since they split in 2014.
But the friend says: ‘Perhaps she’ll be tempted to write about it now. She could give a different perspective on the relationship.
(Very) modern manners
Private planes are all the rage in the Covid era, but how much does it cost to join the jet set?
One insight comes from Sir Elton John and his husband, David Furnish, who flew the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their private jet to their villa in the South of France.
Newly released figures from their business, Wab Air Ltd, reveal the jet cost £8 million and it depreciated by £1 million between 2019 and 2020.
Meghan may enjoy more trips on it, too, as she’s signed up Furnish as executive producer of her first TV series for streaming giant Netflix. Chocks away!
