Loose Women star Stacey Solomon is taking a break from her high profile career to focus on being a mum following an accident at home, a source revealed to new magazine.

The pregnant star, 31, was shocked when her two-year-old son Rex recently had to be rushed to hospital after a nasty fall in their garden.

The tot required stitches to his lip which left her and actor fiancé Joe Swash shaken to the core. The accident has been like a wake-up call to Stacey who works long hours for her role in the weekday ITV chat show.

“Stacey is really taking a step back from work,” the source said.

“The little accident that Rex had gave them a shock and while Stacey tries to do everything and please everyone, she knows she needs to put her health and her family first.

"This baby is more important than anything. They’ve gone to Cornwall for a little break and some chill time. Stacey is making sure she looks after herself.”

At the time, Joe, 39, told their Instagram followers: “Honestly, when the kids are hurt, I panic like nobody’s business.”

Stacey is already mum to Zachary, 13, and Leighton, nine, while her and Joe share toddler Rex.

The couple were over the moon to announce recently that the baby she’s expecting is a girl.

“Joe was in tears. Stacey says she just wants to make sure the baby is good and healthy, but to have a little girl is the icing on the cake,’ the source said.

"They were so thrilled.”

The source added that Stacey and Joe feel like when they welcome their little girl it will complete their family.

"It will probably be it for them now," the source said.

She recently told her Instagram followers that she plans to enjoy every second of motherhood and solely focus on the children she has and her daughter yet to be born.

“I just feel so grateful,” she said. “I don’t want to miss a second of it … because it just all goes so fast and all of a sudden they’re teenagers.”
