Queen Elizabeth Was Asked About the Royal Baby’s Arrival and Her Response Was Adorable

Only a day after the royal baby arrived, Queen Elizabeth has commented for the first time about her new great-grandchild.

ITV News‘s royal editor, Chris Ship, tweeted the exchange, which took place at the Order of Merit service at Windsor Castle. Queen Elizabeth attended alongside her husband, Prince Philip, who rarely makes public appearances since retiring from his official royal duties in 2017.

According to Ship, who shared a video clip of the comments, “The Queen is asked about her newest great grandchild: ‘Life is good for Your Majesty?’ ‘Yes thank you’ ‘Another great grandchild! How many of them have you got now?’ ‘Eight!'”

Queen Elizabeth is officially a great-grandmother of eight, and it sounds as though she couldn’t be happier about it.

Soon after news of the royal baby’s birth broke, new dad Prince Harry gave a heartwarming TV interview. “I’m so incredibly proud of my wife,” Harry explained. He continued, “As every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for so I’m just over the moon.”
