Taylor Swift crashes Ticketmaster by taking Eras Tour to the big screen

Taylor Swift announces release for 1989 Taylor’s Version

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is breaking records across music, entertainment, and even science (remember those Seattle shows that brought record-breaking seismic activity “equivalent to an earthquake”?).

It’s been generating enormous sums of money and has stimulated the economy of virtually every town it’s traveled to over the last few months.

Swift would’ve been stupid not to film the entire journey for some type of project.

Thankfully, she did, and now the singer, 33, has announced that she will release a concert film of The Eras Tour in theatres in North America.

Swift announced the news on Instagram on Thursday and shared an exciting trailer for the movie.

She wrote: “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon.”

The Bad Blood singer added: “Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now at amctheatres.com. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk).”

The film will open at AMC Theatres in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

In true Taylor style, tickets will cost $19.89 for adults, and $13.13 for children.

Ticket sales for the tour were hectic, but sales for the movie’s tickets will prove to be just as frenzied.

In anticipation for the first day of ticket sales, AMC bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle the extreme traffic at more than five times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.

Search for AMC ballooned over 1000% in the hours after the film was announced.

The Eras Tour kicked off in March 2023, and due to the unprecedented demand for tickets to the tour, websites like Ticketmaster crashed, prices soared and left tons of fans out.

Each show is three hours with 44 songs divided into 10 acts for each of Taylor’s eras.

When it wraps up in November 2024, Taylor will have played 146 concerts across five continents.

Fans and critics alike have called it the biggest tour in music history.

Swift’s Eras Tour is also on pace to make “a projected gross of $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone,’ TIME reported on Wednesday.
