Emmerdale star Zoe Henry only ever teases snippets of her home life on social media and this week was no different. The 47-year-old actress, who has appeared in the soap opera on and off since 2001, snapped some pictures of the produce she has grown in her allotment and posted it on Twitter.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Zoe, who is married to co-star Jeff Hordley, posted a photo showing a handful of carrots of all shapes and sizes and another with just two parsnips.

“The joy of growing root veg is you never quite know what’s going on beneath the soil!” the mum-of-two captioned her pictures.

“We’d all but given up on our carrots,” she informed her 101,400 followers.

“And here’s a little parsnip hug too,” the ITV star added.

“Wow they look amazing Zoe…we struggle with carrots,” one follower wrote in the comments section of the post, before adding: “I’m very envious, but well done!”

“We normally do Jane!” Zoe replied.

“Hoping it’s not a one off!” the actress went on to say.

“Just can’t beat home grown veg,” another impressed follower commented.

Offering some gardening advice another social media user piped up with a helpful suggestion.

“Carrots did better this year growing them in dustbins but parsnips wonky as soil on the allotment is very stony.”

“That’s a good idea, might try mine in dustbins next year,” a fellow gardening enthusiast remarked.

Referring to the picture of the parsnips, one Twitter user sweetly said: “That looks like mummy parsnip giving a hug to baby parsnip.”

“Well now I’m not sure I’d call it a hug but those sweet little carrots look fab,” another added.
