Inside Scotland's biggest Superdrug as it opens in major shopping centre – and beauty fans will be thrilled | The Sun
THE biggest Superdrug store in Scotland opened its doors to customers today.
With super-wide aisles, a beauty salon and nurses' station, the shop covers more than 9,000sq ft – more than double the size of an average high-street branch.
The new store, in the lower mall at Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow, is packed full of exclusive brands, the latest health and beauty products and luxury fragrances.
And an in-store beauty salon offers customers nail treatments, a brow bar and even piercings.
The sleek new Superdrug is in the old Topshop unit, in the centre of the mall, which closed its doors when the brand shut-up shop in 2021.
And it couldn't look more different from the former branch of the chain in the mall.
Wendy Alexander, who has been area manager for Superdrug for almost 18 years, said: "It's absolutely phenomenal. We went through a long wait to get this store for the increased size – the old store felt cramped and dated, this is the most modern, up-to-date fit that Superdrug has.
"It's much more shoppable – we're really proud of the store opening."
Shoppers can also sign up to Superdrug’s Health & Beautycard in-store, to collect points to redeem on future purchases, with exclusive offers available for cardholders, including lower member prices, bonus points offers, birthday treats and the option to pay with points.
Gillian Hudson, the new store's manager, said: “I’ve no doubt people will be impressed. The size of our new store at Braehead will wow shoppers, as it’s much more spacious.
