Meghan Markle pregnant LIVE – Duchess reveals she and Prince Harry are expecting second baby two years after Archie

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have announced they are expecting their second child.

The couple's spokesman confirmed the news in a statement as they announced their son Archie will soon become a big brother.

"We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child," a spokesperson for the couple said.

The news comes two days after Meghan revealed she suffered "damage and real sadness" after she won a High Court privacy battle over a letter she sent her dad.

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, sued the Mail on Sunday publisher Associated Newspapers Ltd after they published the "heartfelt" handwritten letter to Thomas Markle.

A top judge at the High Court in London granted her a "summary judgment", which would see the case resolved without a trial.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN EUGENIE AND MEGHAN'S BIRTHS

The new royal baby – Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank’s first child – was born at The Portland Hospital in London, the same place Meghan Markle had baby Archie in May 2019.

It is also the hospital where Eugenie herself was born in 1990.

    There are other similarities:

Black & white announcement: Both couples announced the birth of their son via Instagram, sharing a tender black and white snap.

Baby's first Insta-post: Rather than relying on Buckingham Palace to announce the birth of their son, Eugenie and Jack chose to share it with the princess' 1.3 million Instagram followers alongside the official announcement. Harry and Meghan did the same.

Post-birth privacy: Neither new mum wished to fall in line with the royal tradition of posing on the steps of the hospital with their newborn, instead wanting privacy.

THE BEAUTY RULE MEGHAN NEVER BREAKS

Meghan Markle's former make-up artist has revealed the one beauty rule the Duchess never breaks.

Lydia Sellers is a top beautician and hair stylist, who worked with the Suits actress on her Vanity Fair and Elle covers – and has also groomed the likes of Dave Franco and Jamie Lynn Spears.

Lydia told Refinery 29 that Meghan favours a natural, laid-back look – and is always adamant that her freckles are still visible under her make-up.

She said: “Every time I'd do her makeup, she'd say, 'Can we just make sure my freckles are peeking through? I don't want a tonne of foundation.'

“It was more about the amount of product that went on her skin and keeping it really fresh and dewy, rather than caking it on.”

She added: “Her approach is very effortless. She just wants to look like a better version of herself.”

WHY MEGHAN MARKLE ALWAYS WEARS SHOES TOO BIG FOR HER

You'd be forgiven for thinking a super stylish royal like Meghan Markle wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of ill-fitting shoes.

But according to fashion expert Harriet Davey, the Duchess of Sussex purposefully wears shoes too big for her.

She explained: “Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they're at an event or on the red carpet and it's for one reason we can all relate to – to avoid blisters.

“There's nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes (we've all been there on a night out) and when celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time their feet can often swell up.”

“The swelling can cause blisters and in the long run bunions – like long-time heel fan Victoria Beckham has been rumoured to suffer with.”

    MEG LOVES SENDING HAND-WRITTEN NOTES

    undefined

In her lifestyle blog The Tig she gave followers tips on the art of penmanship.

She wrote: “I’m admittedly a Luddite (ironic considering I’m now the girl with a lifestyle website, I know), but if given the option between fingers to keyboard, or pen to paper, I will always choose the latter.

“Because amongst the throwback things that I love (a ’62 Porsche speedster à la Dylan McKay in 90210, a bevy of Vargas girls, a Busby Berkeley film, or cooking over a charcoal grill), what trumps all is my love of writing (and receiving) a handwritten note.”

COUPLE FORKED OUT ‘$400 AN HOUR TO MAKE PODCAST’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “forked out $400-an-hour to record a mental health podcast at a luxury beachfront mansion” instead of their own £11m home, it has been claimed.

In October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined Californian high school students on their “Teenager Therapy’ podcast” to mark Mental Health Day.

To promote the episode, the hosts shared a photo of the royal couple taken during the recording – where they’re sitting in front of a stone fireplace and wearing face masks.

Although royal fans initially questioned whether the couple had shared another glimpse inside their “forever home”, the Daily Mail claims the podcast was actually recorded at a beachfront mansion a short drive down the road.

Described as “On the sand in Montecito”, the beachfront house can be rented for a minimum of three hours – costing at least £900

ROYAL EXPERT CLAIMS ‘PRINCE HARRY CARES ABOUT THE LINE OF SUCCESSION BECAUSE OF MEGHAN’

Royal expert, Ingrid Seward, claims Prince Harry cares about the line of succession – because of Meghan.

She said: “The only modern Prince who really cares where he is in the list, is probably Harry. It is not because he minds for himself.

“But his wife Meghan could not understand why, when she had married the future King’s second son, they were so much less important than William and Kate and their tribe of children.”

MEGHAN 'PUTTING TOE IN THE WATER' OF AMERICAN POLITICS FOLLOWING PATH OF ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

Meghan  could follow Arnold Schwarzenegger into politics after holding a secret meeting with a top Democrat, US politicians say.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex risked a row in Britain by spending an hour chatting to the influential California Governor, Gavin Newsom.

ut in California, where the couple are living, politicians are hoping the former actress will follow the “well-worn path” of Arnie into politics.

Mike Trujillo, a prominent Democratic strategist, told The Times: "She’s doing everything that’s appropriate and allowed given her new position but she’s definitely putting her toe in the water.

“And once your toe is in the water your whole foot is in and next thing you know you are knee-deep and then you are fully in.”

MEGHAN'S MAKEUP TIPS (FROM THE BACK OF AN UBER)

Remember the time Meghan did her makeup in the back of an Uber?

In 2018 unseen video of her trying out make-up in the back of a taxi demonstrated she's just like the rest of us.

In this video, from September 2016 – shortly before she met Prince Harry – Meghan, accompanied by makeup mogul Bobbi Brown, happily applies her own slap.

First, she tried out a retouching wand.

"It's actually like a Cinderella wand for your skin," Bobbi said – perhaps a prediction of what was to come.

She then tried out a face pencil, for correcting problem areas. Meghan applied some to her forehead and the inner corners of her eyes.

    MEGHAN TO STAY IN USA

Meghan Markle won’t return to the UK this summer for Her Majesty’s birthday because she doesn’t want to leave Archie who loves Zoom calls with the Queen, according to the author of her biography.

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, does not plan to join Prince Harry, 36, when he visits the Royal Family for the first time since Megxit, royal insiders claim.

Meghan and Harry are living in their $14million Californian mansion and famously stepped back from their royal duties last year.

The author of her biography Finding Freedom, Omid Scoobie, said their travel plans are “up in the air” due to the coronavirus pandemic.

WHERE DOES HARRY STAND IN LINE?

The Royal Family's line of succession is a confusing one…

When Prince Edward, 56, was born in March 1964, he became third in line ahead of big sister Anne.

Andrew, then aged 22, went to fight in the Falklands War and came home a hero, but he had lost his place in the hierarchy.

And Princess Eugenie's new baby has made a difference too.

    MEGHAN THE POLITICIAN?

The Duchess of Sussex has been tipped to “do an Arnold Schwarzenegger” and run for office in America.

The former actress has been hailed as a possible successor to action star Arnie, who used his profile to become Governor of California in 2003.

Meghan, 39, was even said to have been considered as the state’s replacement senator after Kamala Harris became the new US Vice President, before the role went elsewhere.

Democratic Party strategist Mike Trujillo suggested that Meghan and Prince Harry’s Archewell Foundation could provide a “vehicle” for her to move into politics.

He said: “Schwarzenegger had a big after-school foundation. That’s what introduced him to politics.”
