Very Peri, Pantone's Color of the Year, Can Actually Help You Manifest in 2022

Periwinkle has been my favorite color since the day I opened my first box of crayons as a child, and it has remained my signature shade ever since. So, it should come as no surprise that I was extremely happy to see Pantone name the violet-blue hue as its color of 2022 — especially since its also one that might help with manifestation.

According to Pantone, "Very Peri" (Pantone 17-3938) promises to bring "newness" to the year ahead. That's the kind of vibe that falls right in line with many people's goals; after two years of intensity due to a life-altering pandemic, it's safe to say we could all use a fresh start.

"Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression," said Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute's Executive Director, via press release. Apparently, this specific blend is also perfect for mending and healing the "transition we are going through" — but what exactly does that mean, and how can we use this beautiful color to bring some hype to our day-to-day life?

Color Magic practitioner and author of The Cosmo Tarot: The Ultimate Deck and Guidebook, Sarah Potter, says that Very Peri is a "dreamy 'calm balm' for the whirlwind of confusion the past two years have been."

"Periwinkle opens us up to fantasy guided by our intuitions," Potter tells InStyle. "It's such a pleasing color to look at, and invokes a lovely sense of peace and happiness. That vibe is so needed to guide us into '22 with a little optimism."

Going even further, Very Peri is a color that evokes memories and everlasting love, which can help us manifest better relationships and an unconditional form of support amongst peer groups.

As an astrologer, I have knowledge of dressing for your aura, and I can tell you that Very Peri is an inspiring color. It's motivational in nature, and can provide us with the confidence to reach deep within, aligning our goals with our emotions. That's exactly the energy we need in order to create and bring our dreams to life in 2022.

If you're hoping to bring this positive energy into your orb, all you need to do is wear a piece of clothing in the color, or surround your home with objects (like a throw blanket) to wrap yourself up in. If you focus your mind and heart on attaining wonderful things and set mindful intentions with the universe, you will bring them into your subconsciousness and, later, into your conscious actions.

All in all, Very Peri will be the color that gives you the push to attract the energy and life you want — especially on the romantic front.

From an astrological standpoint, the year ahead already promises radical love, especially on April 12 when tender Neptune and lucky Jupiter connect in transcendent Pisces. Therefore, Very Peri is a great color to wear on this day. You can also wear the blue hue on January 8, February 12, March 12, and October 22 — AKA auspicious date nights where it will help bring love into your life.

Personally, I'm feeling Very Peri, and am excited for any chance to bring more compassion and camaraderie into my life. Should you feel the same, shop these Very Peri picks, ahead.
