You’ve been curling your hair wrong – beauty guru reveals how to make the curls hold

A BEAUTY expert has revealed her secret to getting curls that last.

She said she’s been using her system since she was in middle school and it even works on super long hair.

The beauty guru, named Kelsey Griffin, revealed that hairspray isn’t the trick to keeping curls in place; it’s another hair styling item.

“People just assume to use hairspray or refuse to use hairspray because they think that that’s what makes the curl fall out, but we’re going to use a mousse, people!” she excitedly exclaimed in the step-by-step video she shared on TikTok.

The first step in the process of obtaining curls that will hold is applying mousse to dry hair.

“[You’re going to put] a big glob of mousse in your dry hair. Just apply it, work it through,” she instructed.

“Then you’re just gonna brush through so that it’s coating all the hair.”

She admitted that while your hair will probably “look and feel gross,” it will feel back to normal once the mousse is evenly brushed through your hair and your hair dries.

“Now when you curl your hair, I swear your curls will last like three days,” Kelsey claimed.

Her followers were super impressed with the trick, with one saying, “Girl if this works, I’m gonna freak out.”

Others validated the TikToker’s hair hack.

“As someone with pin-straight, Asian hair … this works,” an excited user commented.

“Use to do this for pageants and still do it when I curl my hair for events.”

A second supporter claimed the curls can only get ruined if you set them on fire.

This is just one of several hair styling tips that have been revealed by TikTokers.

One woman previously noted that people with straight hair shouldn’t be brushing it more than four times a day to prevent damage.

She also said people should sleep with their hair in a “protective hairstyle.”

The expert suggested applying leave-in conditioner or argan oil to the ends of hair as one way to protect it.
