‘90210’ stars reunite for reboot cast photos – with Shannen Doherty

Two months after members of the “Beverly Hills 90210” cast reunited to mourn co-star Luke Perry, the West Beverly crew had a happier reason to come back together: the first cast photo for this summer’s reboot, which Fox has titled “BH90210.”

“The gang is BACK,” proclaimed Tori Spelling, who planned Donna Martin on the iconic ’90s teen soap, in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

The gang was also fully glammed up for the photo, which shows Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Spelling and Brian Austin Green.

When Fox first announced the reboot in late February (one week before Perry’s death on March 4, as it turned out), Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh in the first four seasons, was not on board. But she changed her mind and signed on two months later.

“Yes it’s official,” Doherty, 48, confirmed via Instagram on April 26.  “The real question is…. will we still be rocking those outfits?”

Rather than playing the characters that defined their careers, Fox said the cast would play “heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialized drama … inspired by their real lives and relationships,” along with “a healthy dose of irreverence.”

The six-episode reboot, titled “90210,” premieres Aug. 7 on Fox (9 EDT/PDT).
