Aaron Rodgers Skips Off-Season Training Start For Hawaii Trip With Fiancée
The Green Bay Packers off-season training is underway and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not on-hand. The 37 year old gridiron behemoth and his Fiancée Shailene Woodley instead headed to Hawaii for another post-engagement vacation.
The duo were joined by friends Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh. It was Mrs. Teller who had been showcasing the double date festivities on Instagram to a round of excited followers and fuming football fans.
From a mesmerizing hike around beautiful local ponds to expected days lounging by the beach, the quarterback and his future wife basked in all that Hawaii had to offer.

“Ponds with soulmates thank you @zenobijade for the best day of hiking these pools,” Keleigh wrote alongside the images.
While the comments on Instagram were flowery and loving, the comments on Twitter were decisively more divisive. The announcement that Rodgers wasn’t attending day one of training was revealed by Packers reporter Rob Demovsky, who simply Tweeted:
“Aaron Rodgers was NOT among the group of players who reported to Lambeau Field on Monday for the start of organized team activities.”
While Demovsky didn’t specifically name the islands as Aaron’s current location, it didn’t take long for online sleuths to figure out that the vacation, being documented for the world to see, played a role in his absence.
Of course, it may have played a smaller role than expected as ESPN senior NFL analyst Adam Schefter reported in April 2021 that Aaron was “so disgruntled” with the Green Bay Packers organization that he had actually considering not returning to the team. The news, much like Demovsky’s today, came via Tweet at the time:
“Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday.”
The animosity some fans have for Shailene could stem back from her appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon back in February. It was there that the Divergent actress revealed that she wasn’t a longtime fan of the game, adding that she doesn’t know Rodgers “as a football guy.” In fact, she never saw a game before meeting her husband-to-be.
“I know him as like the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy! That’s the dude I know. He just happens to also be very good at sports,” she told Fallon.
Now, she knows him as her Hawaiian cohort, catching heat online while basking in the heat from the sun. By the time the wedding rolls around, whether he’s a Packer at all is anyone’s guess.
