Adele: All of the biggest revelations from the singing sensations Oprah Winfrey interview

Adele is back in a big way and, quite frankly, we're loving it.

The 33 year old singing sensation has captivated fans with new single Easy On Me, and she's been doing a series of interviews as a result, and she's got our undivided attention.

The singer candidly opened up in a must-see interview with Oprah Winfrey recently, titled Adele: One Night Only, and shared some details about her life we didn't previously know.

So, to get you up to date, here are all of the biggest revelations in Adele's Oprah interview…

Reconciling with her estranged father

Adele revealed she reconciled with her estranged dad Mark Evans before his death earlier this year.

The Hello singer has had public feuds with her dad over the years – after he walked out on his family when Adele was just three years old.

Adele, who is now mum to son Angelo, explained how Mark's alcoholism and "lack of presence" left a "void" she was "definitely always trying to fill".

She candidly told Oprah Winfrey during the CBS special: "I had absolutely zero expectations of anybody, because I learned not to have them through my dad.

He was the reason I haven't fully accessed what it is to be in a loving, loving relationship with somebody."

Earlier this year, Mark died age 57 following a battle with bowel cancer for many years.

Hurt over missing her son Angelo

Adele shares her nine year old son with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, whom she was in a relationship with for 10 years.

Opening up on her divorce and missing her son, Adele shared: "It's a process. You know, the process of a divorce, the process of being a single parent.

"The process of not seeing your child every single day wasn’t really a plan that I had when I became a mum."

The meaning behind her heartbreaking new song Hold On

During the chat, Adele discussed the meaning behind her heartbreaking new song Hold On, which has a lyric that reads: "Right now I truly hate being me."

In the one-off TV special Adele revealed it was the advice she got from her friends when she was at her lowest which inspired her to write the tune.

She began exercising after anxiety attacks 'paralysed' her

The star opened up about her weight loss over the last two years, explaining the reason behind her need to work out.

The Easy On Me singer explained that working out in the gym was her safe haven after her divorce from ex Simon as the end of their marriage left her feeling "so disappointed" for both her son Angelo and herself.

Confirming that she lost 100lbs (45kgs), she shared: "I had the most terrifying anxiety attacks after I left my marriage.

"They paralysed me completely, and made me so confused because I wouldn't be able to have any control over my body."

Adele immediately noticed the positive effect going to the gym had on her anxiety and told Oprah that she started going every day as a result.

Adele's son is starting to understand her fame

Adele recalled the day she took her nine year old son Angelo to Taylor Swift's Reputation stadium tour in 2018.

The star explained that at just six years old at the time, his jaw dropped as he couldn't believe how many people had turned up to watch the 31 year old perform on stage.

Adele laughed as she explained to Oprah that his surprise at the sell-out show was "because he used to come to my stadium shows for rehearsals and it'd be empty."

However, Adele shared how his son Angelo finally got a taste of his mum's true popularity in her latest YouTube video premiere for her hit single Easy On Me.

"The other day, he watched the Easy On Me video countdown… and he was like, 'There was 150,000 people waiting!'

Then he read the comments and he was like, 'People really like you!' So he's starting to get it a little bit, but not really."

She felt she "disrespected" her marriage

Adele candidly admitted she felt she "disrespected" marriage after splitting from her husband Simon Konecki "so quickly" after they wed.

Adele admitted she felt "embarrassed" by how quickly her marriage ended.

She told the 67 year old presenter she wanted a "nuclear" family for her son as she never had one after her dad left when she was age three.

She explained: "I've been obsessed with a nuclear family my whole life because I never came from one.

Adele then insisted: "I take marriage very seriously… and it seems like I don't now.

"Almost like I disrespected it by getting married and then divorced so quickly. I'm embarrassed because it was so quick."
