Ariana Grande now has buttery blonde hair and bleached eyebrows
We’re so used to seeing Ariana Grande with her signature brunette hair and half-updo that we nearly scrolled right past a new Instagram post of an Ariana lookalike with buttery blonde hair and lightened eyebrows. That lookalike is, in fact, her.
Ariana has just gone blonde for the filming of Wicked, an upcoming 2024 film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. She’s set to play Glinda, the “Good Witch”, alongside Cynthia Erivo who will play Elphaba, the “Wicked Witch”. From the snippets we can see so far, both leading ladies look incredible.
Ariana, 29, showed off her new look on Instagram yesterday, captioning the grid post: “New earrings”, jokingly pointing out that something was new. However, it’s definitely not her new earrings fans are getting excited about.
“Blondiana just shattered the internet,” comments one.
A second says: “Excuse me, blonde!” while a third adds: “Glinda energy.”
A fourth writes: “Wow, whoever did this hair..”
We can’t say for sure who did Ariana’s colour, or even if it’s not the work of a very good wig, but we do know that this perfect ponytail look is the work of celeb hairstylistCarl Bembridge, who works with the likes of Maura Higgins and Molly-Mae Hague.
Carl also posted the look to his own grid with the caption: “Hair [email protected], “The Hair Tie” [email protected]” He also thanked Ariana’s usual hairstylist Josh Liu for trusting him to work on the singer’s hair.
We think we can all agree that Ariana’s new hair is Good Witch perfection. The blonde colour is buttery in hue with flattering golden undertones. It also looks like she’s lightened her eyebrows – true commitment to the role – to match her new hair shade, since her arches used to be quite a dark shade but now they’re a complementary ashy blonde tone.
We haven’t seen a hair transformation quite this dramatic on Ariana since she took out her hair extensions in 2020. Since then, Ariana has shown off a variety of natural and curly looks, but the initial glance at her extension-free hair back then was quite a treat.
We can’t wait to see more beauty transformations from the set of Wicked as filming goes on!
