Frankie Essex: ‘I buy my kid’s clothes on Vinted – I’m not forking out a fortune’

Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, last May. She has since shared updates while settling into life with babies Logan and Luella.

In her exclusive column for OK! , Frankie has discussed a range of topics related to motherhood – from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to “feeling more human again” as the babies dropped their dreaded 2am feed.

This week she talks about taking the twins abroad for the first time for a friend's wedding, how she was left feeling gutted after Logan threw up on hair during the wedding reception, and how she's been buy a lot of kid's clothing on fashion resale app Vinted.

We took the twins abroad for the first time

It was our friend's wedding in Portugal this week so we flew out there for a few days, and luckily both the twins were so well-behaved on the flights.

We stayed at the Penha Longa Resort which was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the money. Some hotels say they're five-star but then don't really live up to it, while this was 100% a five-star hotel.

It was also great for both Logan and Luella. One day after breakfast we went for a walk around the resort and Logan just stopped in his tracks and we looked at what he was staring at and there was just this huge bouncy castle and trampoline.

And one of the other days one the hotel workers told us that there were some stables at the resort so we walked for about ten minutes to get to those and Logan was actually asleep by the time we got there but Luella loved seeing all the horses

Logan threw up on me during the wedding reception

We all had these amazing matching lilac outfits on, both of the twins wore the colour, and I had this beautiful outfit with Ostrich feathers from Rag & Doll. Luke found a suit he'd had made years ago, and I found this lilac tie from Hermes for him – it was called the Love tie, and that's his last name and we were going to a wedding so it felt like fate and I had to get it for him.

We all looked so great with our matching outfits, but then at about 10pm Logan was still awake so we were dancing and he just threw up all over me.

I actually could have cried, but I quickly rushed the two of us back to the our hotel room and hat a quick shower, but I was so gutted because obviously I had to change my outfit so I was no longer matching.

After I got out of the shower Logan had poured milk all over himself so I had to get him changed again, by the time we'd made it back I'd missed one of the meal courses, and Logan fell asleep ten minutes later.

I've been buying some winter clothes for the twins

Now that they're both walking you can see their outfits a bit more so I've been trying to find some nice winter clothes for them, but I don't want to spend on a fortune when they'll probably have grown out of them by next year, especially Logan who's already growing fast.

I've been buying loads on Vinted, it's so good for baby stuff, I got them some jelly sandals not too long ago that were really nice, and I got Luella a bundle of ballet stuff for her first baby ballet lesson and if she ends up not liking it I can just put the bundle back up for sale.

I keep telling people about the app and getting asked if I'm paid to promote it, but I'm not, I'm just a bargain hunter.

I'm going to let the twins pick their own hobbies, but I'll still push them to try out things

I think with children you need to experiment with different hobbies and if they want to do something, obviously you push that. I think Luella may want to take up horse-riding and I'll definitely get her into lessons when she's older, but it'll be up to her if she wants to take that up.

And Luella has baby ballet starting next week which should be nice, and we've got Logan signed up to "baby ballers" which is football lessons.

So I'm taking Luella to her classes, while Luke will take Logan to his so it's going to be so great to have that one-on-one time, as sometimes it can feel like my attention is split between the pair of them.
