Inside Prince Harry and Camillas relationship including resentful stares

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to be on their way to the Netherlands later this week to attend the Invictus Games on their first trip together since leaving for the US.

It is seeming unlikely though that the couple will venture to the UK during their European visit to see the Windsor family, Royal experts have said.

These predictions come as Harry has kept silent on the Queen ’s wish in a statement given in February to haveCamilla take position as Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes King.

The 37 year old’s silence and general distance from the Royal family may be in result of his reportedly rocky relationship with Camilla, whom Royal author Tina Brown has said Harry "can't stand" as its been predicted this will be highlighted in his upcoming memoir.

“His tome is likely to tackle his tricky relationship with the Duchess of Cornwall, who was confirmed as the future Queen Consort by our Queen and is probably the real reason he is staying away,” Royal author Robert Jobson told The Mirror.

"Can you imagine how excruciating it would be over dinner if somebody was to ask what’s in the soon to be published Random House book about them?”

Camilla’s connection with Harry certainly didn’t start out smoothly as she was introduced into the family a mere few years after his mother, Princess Diana died, which was an understandably traumatic time for the then young teenager.

Harry wasn’t seen with the Duchess of Cornwall until some time after Prince Charles and Camilla went public with their relationship in the early 2000s, in 2001, during which time he was still processing having lost his mother so abruptly.

“I think the relationship between them all is warm now but if I'm honest, it wasn't then. I think they found it hard,” a palace source told Royal biographer Penny Junor for her book Prince William: Born to be King.

"To be fair to Camilla, she never tried to be mummy but she was the 'other woman' and she was there and taking daddy's time."

A courtier stated in Ms Brown’s new book The Palace Papers that Harry "unnerved" Camilla" and gave her “resentful stares” creating an awkwardness between them that later went away as the Duke of Sussex mentioned in 2005 that he “loved [Camilla] to bits”.

Although they never grew close, a friend told The Mirror, they showed a unified relationship publicly as Harry matured, with tension still remaining — particularly when Megan entered the picture.

Towards the end of their time as senior Royals, The Mirror revealed that Camilla was left “upset” when Megan had pictures of her at the National Theatre published on the day she gave a speech for the 10th anniversary of the Women of the World Festival in London.

Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the Royal family further fractured their relationship with Camilla, according to experts, while Harry’s silence on the Duchess’ recently appointed role beside the future King Charles “speaks volumes”, a pal told The Mirror.

“William has accepted Camilla in terms of what she means to his father. He’s been grown-up about it. “My father loves this woman, I can’t fight it, so I won’t,” Royal author Tina Brown told The Telegraph.

"Harry, on the other hand, can’t stand Camilla, he doesn’t want Camilla to be queen, he’s very angry that it’s happening. He has not made his peace with it and he probably never will."

Harry's memoir is due to be released in the lead-up to Christmas and is said to be an explosive tell-all which will detail his tensions with Camilla and the rest of the Royal family, a source told The Mirror, leaving the monarchy "shaking to the core.”
