Lidl's sell-out pizza oven is back – and it's cheaper than Aldi's
LIDL is selling a pizza oven for £35, which makes it £5 cheaper than Aldi's £40 one.
The bargain pizza oven has already sold out once before, so shoppers will have to be quick to cash in on its return.
Lidl's new buy will be available in-store from this Sunday.
It’s a small metal barbecue pizza oven topper designed to sit on the cooking area of your barbecue.
The Grillmeister barbecue pizza oven can be used on both gas and charcoal setups and has an integrated thermostat for easy temperature control.
There's a base to cook a 12 inch pizza but if the Italian favourite isn't to your liking, then you can also bake bread with it too.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
You'll have to make sure the cooking area of your barbecue is at least 40 x 35cm to fit the pizza oven on, so check the size of what you already have before you buy one.
Otherwise you could find yourself going over budget by splashing out more on the appliance it needs to fit.
The pizza oven is perfect for summer, alfresco dining and pizza parties now the sun is out and the weather is heating up in the UK.
Lidl first sold its pizza oven last year for £39.99, now it's £34.99 as the discount retailer has slashed the price by £5 ready for bargain hunters to snap up.
The oven is also 12% cheaper than Aldi's almost identical but sold-out Gardenline version which is due to return soon.
When it does come back though, you'll have to factor in the extra £3.95 delivery fee as Aldi's oven is an online only purchase so you won't be able to avoid the extra charges by heading in-store.
Aldi's oven is portable with two carry handles so you can take the pizza party anywhere, and it's also made of ceramic stone with an easy-to-clean stainless steel interior.
The slightly more expensive version will still cook the exact same size pizza's as Lidl's though
It's worth shopping around to see if you can find a better deal though, as there might be a better bargain on offer elsewhere.
Asda has a pizza oven for sale for £40 which makes it £5 more expensive than Lidl's and only 1p more than Aldi's, but it's also sold out online.
You can try the postcode checker on the retailer's website to see if it's in stock in-store though or call ahead to your local store.
The £40 pizza oven is made from steel and ceramic and will also fit 12 inch pizzas for you to cook at home.
You can buy another home pizza oven from Argos for £50, it's £15 more expensive than Lidl's though.
It comes in four pieces so you'll have to construct the oven at home before you start cooking, but there is a one year manufacturer's guarantee.
