Madeleine, who is the mother of Princess Adrienne, Prince Nicolas and Princess Leonore, picked a romantic pink dress for the day.

She paired it with a pair of white sneakers and kept her accessories to a minimum.

She wore her honey locks loose and let them cascade down her shoulders in golden waves.

Madeleine sported natural makeup, only using a dash of bronzer to complement her healthy glow, adding some mascara and eyeshadow, and a natural-looking shade of gloss.

The children played with colourful balloons and got to pet and ride the horses at the royal stables

The mother-of-three, who is the royal patron of the My Big Day charity, bonded with the children, who were all diagnosed with serious illnesses

Snaps showed the beaming children petting horses and enjoying a sunny afternoon with the real life princess.

In total, seven girls and one boy were invited to the Palace’s stables for the special day.

They were driven to the stables in their own limousine, and after meeting the horses, they rode them.

They were even taken on carriage rides, before enjoying some elderberry juice and princess cake for tea.

Madeline has been the patron of My Big Day since the charity was created in 2000.

It plans events for children who have been diagnosed with serious illnesses.

Only one boy attended the event. He got to come in on a white horse, pictured, and wore a flower crown

The children, who each had a balloon, were led to the tables by the real life princess, who introduced them to the horses
