Man complains constantly about his toothache during wife’s 19 hour childbirth

No one is denying that toothache doesn't hurt a lot. It can be utterly miserable.

But to complain to your wife about your poorly tooth while she's in the throes of childbirth strikes us as…inadvisable.

Yet, this is what one dad-to-be actually did while his wife was in labour. Miraculously, he's still alive!

The couple both took to Reddit to explain what happened, with the action kicking off when the wife went into labour three weeks early.

"My husband had been complaining about a toothache for months and months throughout my first pregnancy," the wife wrote.

"It kept getting worse, and every time he'd complain I’d say he should go to the dentist, but he refused."

Prior to this dramatic turn of events, the husband had apparently been "complaining about a toothache for months and months throughout my first pregnancy," the wife wrote.

"It kept getting worse, and every time he’d complain I'd say he should go to the dentist, but he refused."

This, unfortunately, did not mean he was being stoic.

Just a few hours into labour, and the pesky tooth pain struck, which he describes as " sharp, eye-watering pain" that hurt "in an ungodly way."

He maintains his wife was, at this point, "in very little discomfort.

"Over the next couple of hours the toothache became a competing topic of conversation."

So why didn't he do anything?

He explains: "I didn't want to leave her side to look for medicine until her parents arrived."

Chipping in, the wife adds: "I had asked him multiple times to get it checked out, and there were other things at the moment I felt I should be focusing on," she wrote.

"It wasn't just that he mentioned once or twice his tooth was hurting, this dominated the conversation for probably a couple hours."

Fortunately, the cavalry arrived in the form of her parents and the husband was able to go and get some pain relief, apparently just before the contractions really "started to pick up."

They welcomed a healthy baby and, now the dust has settled a bit, the husband is wondering if he was on the wrong.
