Masked Singer 2023 theories and clues so far from Knitting to Phoenix
The Masked Singer has made a welcome return to our screens, with the 2023 series kicking off on 1 January on ITV.
13 new celebrities are taking part in the new series, with the first already being unmasked – It was revealed during the first episode that football pundit Chris Kamara was the singer behind Ghost.
There's still 12 mystery celebrity singers to guess, and fans have been eagerly trying to guess the identity of the star behind each costume.
Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall make up the judging panel for the fourth series, and comedian Joel Dommett is on hosting duties again.
Here we take a look through all of the clues and theories for The Masked Singer 2023…
Knitting was the first performer to take to the stage as The Masked Singer returned to TV screens in January.
The person had links to the city of Lancaster and described themselves as "warm, comforting and cosy". There walso appeared to be a link to morning television.
The judges appeared to be certain the person had a link to the West End and was sure that they're crafty, with a love of knitting.
Names such as Jane Horrocks and Stacey Solomon have been thrown into the suggestion box by fans, but the majority appear to think it is Claire Richards from hit band Steps.
There was a mention of the number 26, prompting many to figure out that when the numbers 5, 6, 7, 8 – the name of one of the band's hit songs – are added together, they come to a total of 26.
There was also one magpie in the clues package, which many thought could be linked to the Steps song One for Sorrow.
Jellyfish wowed with a performance of Sweet Child O'Mine during the opening episode of the ITV episode.
In their clues package, they said that 'what you see is what you get' and also dropped hints that they are artistic. They also said they were all about love and create their own light.
Other huge clues included the word 'Me' written in shells – prompting many to think there's a link to the name Michelle – and they also said have won unexpectedly in the past.
Several possibly celebrities have been suggested by fans, including the likes of Kym Marsh, Sam Bailey, Lulu and Amber Riley.
Michelle McManus and Coronation Street's Jodie Prenger were also thrown into the mix.
One fan wrote on social media: "Michelle McManus jelly fish," while a second tweeted: "Think jelly fish is Sam Bailey."
Otter's identity has definitely got viewers puzzled, with many unsure who could be behind the mask.
Their clues package was filmed with a water park as the backdrop, where there was a sign with rules and diving advice, prompting the judges to feel the person was an actor as it could be linked to RADA.
The person added that they are naturally curious, a little bit naughty while also playful. A shamrock could be seen on the life buoy, and Otter then said they were seen in a more serious light.
Viewers have been left scratching their heads over Otter. Dawn French and Fiona Shaw have both been suggested as the celebrity behind the mask, as well as Emma Thompson and singer Kate Bush.
One fan tweeted: "How much did otter sound like Kate Bush?!?!?"

Cat & Mouse
Cat and Mouse are the first ever duo to compete on The Masked Singer, but the judges and viewers have been torn over whether the duo are a married couple, close friends or co-workers.
Their clues included the number 200,000,000 and they said they're no stranger to legalities and get 'right to the case'.
In one shot, five different jars of spices could be seen, and they also stated they know how to 'spin out a tale'.
The judges guessed Emma Bunton and her husband Jade Jones, as well as Chris and Rosie Ramsay. However, viewers were more convinced the pair were Martin and Shirlie Kemp, who have sang together in the past.
Phoenix definitely impressed the judges with their performance, and the panel were left convinced that an actor was behind the incredible costume.
The celebrity hinted that they were quiet as a child and also said they were familiar with reincarnation. Other clues included the person saying they have risen from the ashes and are good at reinventing themselves.
Fans have been finding it hard to attach the clues to a celebrity singer, but some have wondered if David Tennant or Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson could be behind the costume.
The next acts to perform on the show will be Fawn, Jacket Potato, Piece of Cake, Pigeon, Rhino and Rubbish.
