Meghan and Harry might have hinted at Baby Archie’s name months ago
Ever since we've found out the newest and teeniest royal's name, speculation has been flying about.
Who do the names pay tribute to? Did Prince George spill the tea months ago about what his cousin was going to be called? Was the baby in fact named after Meghan's cat ?
All valid questions to which, alas, there are no solid answers.
Now, just when Royal Baby fever looks like it might be about simmer down, there's a fresh dose of speculation over whether the Sussexes actually hinted at their son's name months ago.
Back in October, shortly before they jetted off on their royal tour, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had just shared the happy news that a baby Sussex was on their way.
It was on the Auckland leg of their tour that Prince Harry dropped a subtle hint after meeting a little boy named Archie.
"Archie, I like that name," Harry told the schoolboy, before calling Meghan over to tell her the name too.
Speaking to Channel 5 News, Archie Somerville-Ryan shared some details about the royal encounter and said:
"He said, 'I like that name' or something like that [to Meghan].
"My mum said, 'Imagine if they call it Archie.' He said, 'Come on Meghan, look at these guys.' Because we had roses in the garden. And he introduced our names and things to Meghan, and kind of like nodded when they said our names."
According to Archie's mum, Emily Somerville-Ryan, her friend Bridget predicted the baby would be called Archie based on the meeting.
"My friend Bridget said, 'Oh my goodness he was so into Archie – he's definitely going to call the baby Archie,' and I thought, 'What?'"
