Meghan Markle dresses Archie in £50 Peppa Pig wellies from brand beloved of Princess Diana

Meghan Markle has dressed two year old son Archie in a pair of adorable £50 yellow wellies that have the royal seal of approval.

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, who sat down with Ellen DeGeneres for a candid interview on the popular talk show, offered a very rare look at her adorable son holding a basket at his chicken coop, lovingly named Archie's Chick Inn, at their £10.5million Montecito home.

Archie, who has his back to the camera, was dressed in denim jeans and a light grey long-sleeved top as he watched the hens eat off their miniature picnic table.

Meanwhile the young royal also donned a pair of limited-edition yellow £50 Hunter X Peppa Pig boots which feature the title character and her little brother George jumping in muddy puddles.

The wellies, which also come in shades pink and blue and are suitable for ages 18 months to eight years, are vegan and are perfect for spending time outdoors.

Hunter, which was awarded a Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1976 and Her Majesty the Queen in 1986, were also a favourite of the late Princess Diana.

A newly-engaged Diana was pictured alongside Prince Charles in Balmoral, Scotland, in May 1981, ahead of their wedding in July, wearing a pair of the traditional green Hunter boots.

A 19 year old Diana posed with her green corduroy trousers tucked into her wellies with red leg warmers and her iconic pink alpaca sweater.

Meanwhile Kate Middleton is a fan of premium brand, Le Chameau, with the Duchess of Cambridge pictured in the boots as she watched her husband Prince William with his brother Prince Harry play in the Golden Metropolitan Polo Club Charity Cup in 2012.

Speaking to Meghan about the adorable snap of Archie in the chicken coop, Ellen – who is a neighbour of Meghan and Harry's in Montecito – said that "he's so sweet with the chickens too".

The host added that "Archie is just such a gentle soul", to which Meghan smiled and answered: "Aww, thank you."

It comes Prince Harry has previously revealed to BBC Radio 1 that little Archie is a huge fan of the UK cartoon Peppa Pig, and it looks like his passion for the kid's show hasn't yet passed.
