Michael Cimino on what to expect in season 2 of 'Love, Victor'

“Love, Victor” star Michael Cimino is giving fans an idea of what to expect in the upcoming season of the Hulu drama.

Following the dramatic season one finale in which Victor (Cimino) came out to his parents, the actor says the storyline of the upcoming season will largely focus on how his character navigates his sexuality publicly and how his relationship with his parents evolves.

“This season is definitely more about Victor discovering what being gay means to him and what it means to the rest of the world,” Cimino said on “Good Morning America” on Thursday.

“Now it’s kind of talking about the dynamic that he has between both his parents — because he has one parent that is really accepting and one parent that is struggling with the fact that they love their religion but also love their child,” the actor continued.

Describing the show as “really relatable” and “easy to digest,” Cimino said he feels the upcoming season can potentially impact families off-screen.

“Anybody could kind of watch this and get a different point of view from it, whether you’re a parent or a child,” he explained.

“I think that’s important, especially for kids that watch the show with their parents,” he continued. “Parents will possibly be like, OK, well now I understand the POV [point of view] from my child — and the children will understand the POV from their parents.”
