Naya Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey reunites with son after disappearance
Naya Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey reunited with his 4-year-old son Josey for the first time since the “Glee” actress vanished from the California lake where she had been boating with the boy, a new photo shows.
Dorsey is seen holding Josey in his arms as the two leave the home of Naya’s sister, model Nickayla Rivera, in Valencia, the Daily Mail reported.
Earlier in the day, the 36-year-old actor, who has joint custody of Josey after his divorce from Rivera in June 2018, was visibly upset, saying he had to care for his son before declining to answer questions when approached by the outlet.
Friends told the outlet Dorsey had “no idea” Rivera, 33, had taken Josey to Lake Piru, where the boy was found Wednesday sleeping alone on a boat in his life jacket. His mother was nowhere to be found.
The boy told authorities that he and his mother had gone swimming, and that he got back on the vessel but “his mom never made it out of the water,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Donoghue said earlier Thursday.
Dorsey’s Los Angeles housemate, who asked not to be named, told the Mail that Dorsey immediately went to the popular tourist spot once he learned what happened.
“Ryan headed up there as soon as their son was found to look after him,” the housemate said. “He was gone by the time I got home Wednesday.”
“Naya has been in LA working but I don’t know where she has been living,” he added. “None of us know any more than what is being reported at this time.”
Dorsey and Rivera married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2018. They agreed to share joint custody of Josey and waived spousal support, according to court documents obtained by The Blast at the time.
The efforts to find Rivera shifted to a recovery mission Thursday, with the actress presumed dead.
