A couple have been praised online for their kind gesture after writing a touching card for their neighbour.
The pair, known as "Mary and Bernard", penned a message to Ian Freud asking him to keep in touch as they were moving away.
In the card, there was a £50 note along with a letter telling him to go out and get a drink on them.
The couple had lived in the house together for 53 years but will be moving 40 minutes away from the area, reports Leeds Live.
As they left they gave Ian a parting gift which was later shared in a Twitter post that has since gone viral.
He wrote: "Mary and Bernard next door are moving out on Wednesday after 53 years together in that house."
The card was published with the post that read: "Please, stay in touch and anytime you are in Halifax, please come and see us.
"Please accept this gift when things get back to normal, have a drink on us. Lots of love, Mary and Bernard."
Since it was posted on social media, hundreds of fans shared the upload praising the sweet gesture from the neighbours.
One wrote: "Would like to have neighbours like this! I think if all this corona is over, you have to go on a trip to Halifax!"
