Newbie DIY enthusiast recreates £220 mirror for just £30

When it comes to DIY, we love to cut costs wherever we can.

Any type of interior work can set you back a significant amount of money, so saving is the aim of the game.

Now, one woman has shown us what can be done on a tight budget by recreating a stylish £220 mirror – for just £30.

Thrifty DIY fan Emma Jade Wheelhouse (@emmajadewheel1) shared the incredible product transformation on her TikTok page, in a video that has garnered more than 150,000 views.

The original panelled wall mirror that Emma adored cost a hefty £220, so she took matters into her own hands.

Armed with a slab of plywood and mirrors that cost £7 for a pack of four from Ikea, Emma created a masterpiece and saved £190 in the process.

In the video, she can be seen painting the mirror frame which she made from the plywood.

Next, she stuck on the bargain mini mirrors to achieve the panel effect.

The final result is a stunning piece of interiors that looks much more expensive than the £30 Emma invested.

Understandably, those in the comments were blown away by her economical yet stylish approach. They were even more dazzled when Emma admitted in the comments that she is a beginner DIY enthusiast.

‘It’s amazing, very impressive,’ wrote one viewer.

‘Love this, I want to do this in the garden,’ said another.

‘Omg need!,’ commented a third.

Others urged Emma to provide step-by-step instructions on how to recreate the DIY hack so they too could replicate it at home.

While Emma didn’t release that information just yet, she said to keep an eye on her TikTok page for more updates.
