And while Kate carried her daughter’s navy satchel, emblazoned with the logo of her new £19,000-a-year private school, the princess’ had an extra touch of sparkle with  a pink, sequined unicorn head key ring dangling from her bag.

The key ring costs as little as £3 and is available with a number of online retailers.

As well as Charlotte’s love of unicorns, Kate recently revealed her daughter was picking up her love of photography.

The mother-of-three is a keen amateur photographer, and revealed at an event in June: ‘Just look at everything around you. Maybe it’s in front of you, or far away but choose your subject and focus on it. Get outside with your camera as well. George and Charlotte love it when we do that.’
