As we begin to head back to work and the autumn months approach us, there’s one piece of clothing we’re very much looking forward to slipping into and that has to be the pussy-bow blouse. Plus it’s a firm favourite from the ever so fashionable Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted in pussy-bow blouses on numerous occasions over the years including royal appearances over Zoom during the pandemic.

The mother-of-three was spotted in a gorgeous purple silk number from Me+Em which she wore for a Q+A back in November last year. The brunette beauty also wore a pink printed blouse from Boden for International Women’s Day which appeared to be a hit with the general public and we can’t wait to get our hands on one too!

Pussy-bow blouses date back to the early 20th century, when the St Petersburg Times advertised a pattern for a collar which could be worn in four different ways with one being the pussy-cat bow tied high under your chin.

It was later resembled as a form of power during the ‘power suit’ era and of course we can’t forget the late Princess Diana wearing one underneath her blue suit for her engagement photographs – it really is a timeless piece.
