Where to buy the cheapest solar lights for your garden including Aldi and Lidl

IF you're looking to brighten up your garden when darkness falls, we've rounded-up the cheapest fairy lights.

From strings of lights to wrap around fences and trees to stakes you can simply stick in the ground; there's a range of options available for less than £10 at retailers including Aldi and Lidl.

Just remember to compare prices before you buy using an online price checking tool, such as Price Spy.

Here are some of the cheapest options we've seen that are sure to put a twinkle in your eye.

Eveready LED String Lights 60pk – Cool White – £4

When it comes to strings of solar lights the very cheapest we could find is this pack of 60 LED white lights for £4 from B&M.

You can't order online from the discount retailer, so you'll have to use its store locator tool to find your nearest shop.

Unfortunately the pack doesn't state how long the string stretches or whether the product requires batteries, but it does say the lights will automatically switch on as night falls. It doesn't appear to come with a guarantee.

Alternatively, Aldi has a pack of 100 LED white lights on a 10m string, which includes one AA 1.2V 600 mAH NI-MIH rechargeable battery.

Aldi's version receives mixed reviews from shoppers but it does come with a one-year warranty.

You can't buy them online though, so you'll need to head down to your nearest Aldi to see if they're in stock.

Multi-coloured Solar-powered Rope Light – £9

If you'd prefer a colourful string of lights to deck your halls the cheapest version we could find is this multi-coloured solar rope from Asda for £9.

The rope includes 50 LED lights stretched out over 8m and comes with one AA rechargeable battery.

It's notched up a 4.5 out of five star rating on Asda's website from 19 reviews, and you can order them for home delivery from £2.95 or it's free for orders over £30.

Asda has temporarily suspended click and collect orders due to the coronavirus crisis.

Checkered Solar Light Post – £1.29

B&M's £1.29 solar light is the cheapest we found for a standalone version -you simply stick it in the soil or in a plant pot.

And even better, it's currently reduced by 71p from £2.

You can't buy online at B&M so you'll have to use its store locator tool to find your nearest shop.

Colour Changing Solar Stake Light – Butterfly – £2

For a snazzier solar light you can stick in the ground B&M is also selling these butterfly-shaped designs for £2.

The lights change between blue, red, and green and the stake they're on is around 80cm tall.

A rechargeable battery is included and you can also get them in dragonfly or hummingbird designs if butterflies don't float your boat.

You can't buy online at B&M so you'll need to check if these are available in store.

Garden Bright Solar Paw Print Lights – £5

These paw print-shaped solar lights from Aldi could be perfect if you have a furry friend in your life.

Costing £4.99 they've already sold out online so you'll have to head down to your nearest store to find them.

You get four paw print lights in a pack and they're on a 2m string for either hanging up or placing along the ground.

Packs include one AA 200mAh NI-MH battery.

They're also available in store where you can get a two-pack for £9.98.

Both come with a 12-month warranty.
