Windsor homes ‘fit for royalty’ on sale near Meghan and Harry’s Frogmore Cottage
Prospective home buyers desperately tried to find properties near Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Frogmore Cottage on the day their son was born.
Archie Harrison's birth date, Monday May 6, was the busiest day on Rightmove so far this year for searches in Windsor.
Some of the available properties would place you among the royal couple’s closest neighbours, and you might even shop at the same supermarket.
Rightmove’s property expert Miles Shipside said: "The British public adores the royal family and you only have to look at how many people lined the streets for Harry and Meghan’s wedding to see that.
"So, to be able to buy a property which would effectively make you a neighbour of the Duke and Duchess is something really special.
"These properties are all charming in their own way; it doesn’t take a genius to work out why the Queen has a residence in Windsor, too.
"It’s a beautiful town."
Here is a whistle-stop tour of some of the homes on the market in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s hometown.
A home with a royal address
This stunning four-bedroom terraced house is nestled in one of Windsor’s most prestigious postcodes and, fitting with the monarchical theme, is based in the heart of Kings Road.
The Grade II-listed family home with a guide price of £1,395,000 overlooks the estate where Frogmore Cottage is.
On the inside, the property is bursting with touches full of character such as feature fireplaces and log burners.
The house is taking part in the Savills Open Houses event this year. On Saturday, between 10am and 4pm, registered guests can take a look around for themselves.

A fairytale property on the doorstep of Windsor Castle
This property, on the market for £1.125million, boasts all the stature befitting a family home that neighbours a royal family.
Windsor Castle is right on the doorstep, so you’re likely to bag an enviable spot for the next generation of royal weddings should Harry and Meghan’s little one follow in the footsteps of his parents.
The house comes complete with a striking walled garden and has generously-sized bedrooms and reception rooms.
Anthony Blackstone, director of Winkworth’s Sunningdale branch covering Windsor, said: "It’s a magnificent property which presents a wonderful renovation opportunity for the lucky buyers.
"With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex living just around the corner, Windsor has become somewhat of a fairytale town and is a marvellous place to raise a family."
An apartment overlooking the Frogmore estate
Overlooking the Great Park and the Frogmore estate, this £399,950 apartment has some of the finest aspects of being a Windsor resident.
It features a modern open-plan living area as well as a courtyard garden.
Carl Atkinson, of Romans, said: "Windsor not only provides the historic attractions of the famous castle, but it’s surrounded by excellent travel links via rail, road and beautiful walks for residents who enjoy the palatial Great Park.
"We believe the news of Harry and Meghan taking up residence at Frogmore will increase the popularity of living in the town and enjoying all of its benefits."
