Woman reveals the diet plan that helped her lose a whopping 7.2 stone in one year
Diet plans comes in many forms, from high-carb vegan plans to low-carb plans like Atkins and keto.
The keto diet has proven increasingly popular in recent years.
It encourages a high fat diet, which is meant to put the body into a state of ketosis.
This is when the body burns fat as its primary fuel instead of carbohydrates.

Many enjoy the diet because it allows them to eat high fat foods other diets don’t.
Red meat, for example, is encouraged on the diet, as is cheese, dairy and nuts.
One Reddit user revealed how she lost amazing 7.3 stone in a year, an incredible achievement.
The dieter wrote on the sharing website: “12 months ago my husband and I got back from our honeymoon and kicked off our keto journey.
“Reddit and this sub in particular has been a huge source of inspiration, knowledge and support over the last year, so I wanted to share a couple of progress pics!”
The woman is visibly slimmer and healthier in the before and after pictures.
She and her partner have both slimmed down, and are both looking like new people.
The Reddit user wrote: “Currently down 46.1kg from keto and exercise. Looking to lose a little more (about 5-8kg).”
She also revealed that counting calories has been a big motivator to help her lose the weight.
“I’ve been tracking macros and calories on MFP the entire time but I definitely feel myself transitioning into a less drastic deficit/hurry to get to my gw (goal weight) and more of a focus on the other health benefits of keto,” she said.
What is the keto diet?
The keto diet is a plan that encourages getting 70 per cent to 80 per cent of your daily calories from fat.
Twenty to 25 per cent should come from fat and five – 10 per cent from carbs.
Some use keto cycling which means having one day with higher carbs per week.
Robert Santos-Prowse, R.D.N., author of The Ketogenic Mediterranean Diet, told Women’s Health that it can help to regulate your hormones on the diet.
He said: “There’s some indication that prolonged carb restriction may be disruptive to thyroid hormone levels, which can be particularly frustrating if you’re trying to do keto for weight loss.”
He also warned a high carb day might cause you to weigh more, but this is just temporary.
“When you get back into ketosis, this water weight should come back off,” he said.
