Arsenal boost as Juventus ‘consider Pau Torres transfer as alternative to Gabriel Magalhaes if Gunners demand too much’ | The Sun

JUVENTUS are plotting a swoop for Villarreal star Pau Torres if Arsenal demand too much money for Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Serie A side are looking to replace Matthijs de Ligt with the Dutch centre-back set to link up with Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga champions agreed a £68million deal.

We reported yesterday how they have made the Gunners' Brazilian defensive stalwart Gabriel one of their top targets.

However, now it has emerged that any potential move depends on what price Arsenal place on the 24-year-old’s head.

And if it proves to be too much, then transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that Juventus could turn their attention to Spanish international Torres instead.

Arsenal are open to a deal with the Italian giants as long as their financial demands are met.

The North Londoners want negotiations to start at a fee of £50million for Gabriel, who is also keen to join Massimiliano Allegri's side.

A player exchange can't be ruled out as the Premier League giants are reportedly eyeing Adrien Rabiot.

The South American stood out on his debut season at the Emirates last term following his arrival from Lille.

The 24-year-old amassed a total of eight goals and one assist in 70 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Spaniard Torres was wanted by Manchester United chiefs earlier in the window, only for boss Erik ten Hag to overrule them in order to bring in Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

And the 2021 Europa League winner has also been linked with a switch to Tottenham this summer.

As well as Gabriel and Torres, Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and Torino's Gleison Bremer are also being monitored by Juventus.

It has been stated that Torres is the most expensive name on their shortlist, with the 25-year-old valued at around £42million.
